Well, not technically the same day. The release date for Transformers has been moved up to 8 PM on July 2nd (from the July 4th it was originally set to be released on, and batted both Fantastic Four 2 and Die Hard 4 away from). But, if you've got $49 sitting around, live in America, and hate movie theaters...you can watch it from the safety and comfort of your own home.
For the first time EVER, a major motion picture is being released both in theaters AND on pay-per-view. I question whether this is a good idea or not. Though with a $49 price tag, I don't really see this impacting box office numbers too terribly (though...with enough people...you could end up paying for less than a movie ticket).
