Transparent PNGs?

I tried making use of a transparent PNG avatar, but the background showed up as white for it in firefox, on other forums I go to it works just fine- but not here. Not that it's a huge deal, but just a little something I'd like to suggest, unless I was the one doing something wrong. Heh.

Perhaps it was resized. The resizing tool doesn't seem to support alpha transparency perfectly.
