I haven't ever gone backpacking before, but I understand that traveling around, even in a dense urban environment with plenty of supplies, requires the support of large backpacks to carry a sleeping bag, clothing, food, water, and other things. So, how can the main characters in Pokemon get away with carrying such small backpacks and yet manage to survive and stay healthy? May gets away with carrying around only a fanny pack. Misty survives a trek from Cerulean to the Pallet countryside alone with a bike and small red rag bag. (I don't want to even get into how she manages to fit a sleeping bag and a fishing pole in there) Drew doesn't even travel with any sort of belongings with him!
How do they do it? I'm guessing with the technology featured in the show that they somehow have the ability to miniturize objects or at least temporarily convert their belongings into energy based form, similar to how a pokeball works. Have they ever addressed this in the show?
