Trials Z rings vs Gym badge?/ Trails leader Vs Gym leader?/ Kahuna vs elite four?

Hi everyone,

What do you think of the trials of the island? Don't you think that they are gym badges in different way?

To me, I really thinks, even if the trails, sun and moon are more had fine ideas, but still it is similar if you ask me. Furthermore, you need to them if you want to reach the champion.

And What the leaders who give you the Z Ring are Gym leader?

I also think that there is no different between Gym Leader, and The leaders of the Z ring such as Mallow, Kaki, and so on.

And about the Kahuna vs elite four?

To me, they are the Elite four of the islands firstly, because you need to beat them to finish the islands, and they already the Elite Four in the Pokemon Champion

So What Do You Think So Far?
 
Similar in a way, but I don't think of them as the same. The anime, for the first time, will be very close to the game mechanics due to the fact that by beating the trials, you get something to become stronger and as proof of the relationship between Pokemon and trainer.

The Z-Ring kinda takes over the idea of HM and TMs... that were given at the end of a gym but never talked about in the main anime.

I think the anime would do well in handling the trials differently than gyms but not so much that it become unrecognizable.

This is something that'll be better answered once we see it in action. Hopefully, it'll be more interesting than the Orange Islands gyms.
 
I think Ash would Z-crystals after completing each trial as a gym badge substitute.
 
I personally feel like the creators of Pokemon made the right choice by changing the formula up this series. I won't say it grew tired, but rather the change in formula added a new dimension to Pokemon itself which is certainly welcome. Also, like somebody else pointed out: They aren't the same, but similiar as well.
 
regions with similar rules of league but should use diffrent names and methodoly of fighting and so on to make it interesting.
Gyms, Trials, are there more synonyms for those?
