I have recently discovered the joys of Triple battles, in particular the battle spot where everything seems to be legends. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than hammering these teams because I despise teams of legends with a passion. Here's the team, any feedback is appreciated:
The Referee (Klefki) w/Light Clay
Bold, Prankster
252DEF 252SPD 6HP
Light Screen
Reflect
Thunder Wave
Foul Play
Standard dual screens Klefki, priority Thunder Wave which I can mess up the other team with or provide a priority SPA boost to my Sceptile.
Boomer (Exploud) w/Weakness Policy
Modest, Scrappy
252HP 252SPA 6DEF
Boomburst
Flamethrower
Ice Beam
Focus Blast
Normally start with this guy in the centre, Boomburst is ridiculous, and when supported by screens he is a beast due to very high HP. Weakness Policy works very well if he is hit by Fighting type moves which I see a lot of.
Legs (Machamp) w/Enigma Berry
Adamant, No Guard
252HP, see below for other EV spread
Wide Guard
Protect (bit of overkill???)
Ice Punch
Dynamic Punch
With the EV spread I worked out all the damage calcs and put however many EV's into attack it takes to OHKO a Jolly Garchomp with 0EV's in DEF. I want to swap protect for something as I think it is overkill here with Wide Guard. Above three are my standard leads, with normal opening strategy of Light Screen/Reflect depending on opposing team, Boomburst, and Wide Guard.
Nibbler (Pachirisu) w/Sitrus Berry
Bold, Volt Absorb
252HP 252DEF 6SPD
Super Fang
Follow Me
Nuzzle
Protect
I love this little guy, deceptively strong and can take a lot of hits.
Scylla (Gyarados) w/Charti Berry (or whatever it is that protects against Rock type atatcks)
Jolly, Intimidate
EV spread I don't quite remember, but it's spread between Speed, Attack and Special Defence based on damage calcs I ran a long time ago. Hits hard, fast and can take a beating. EV's into SPD as Intimidate means I don't have to worry as much about Physical damage.
Earthquake
Bounce
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Dragon Dance to set up, Pachirisu as Follow Me bait, very effective. Bounce is useful as it lets Her hit anyone on the opponants side of the field.
Kiff (Sceptile) w/Sceptilite
Modest, Lightning Rod
252SPA 252SPE 6HP
Quick Guard
Protect
Giga Drain
Dragon Pulse
Receives Klefkis priority T Wave or Pachis Nuzzle if I need a boost. Quick Guard protects my team from Fake outs and Sucker Punches (looking at you Mega-Khan.....) and I'll lead with this guy if I think I need to based on the team profile at the start. I was running Focus Miss, but it was far too unreliable for me. Quick Guard also prevents Exploud from Fake out so I can get Boomburst going.
Overall this team is so much fun to play and seems to have great synergy together. I never really bothered with triples before, but I love how it forces you to think a bit more and anticipate.
Thanks for reading.
