I have a problem. I have a copy of the 2001 John Oswald Box set Plunderphonics 69/96 (Catalogue no. SEELAND515/fONy069/96) that I have been trying to save to my hard drive. The first disc (Songs) saved without a hitch, but the second disc (Tunes) is a lot harder to save.
The hard drive can only access the first eight tracks through Windows Media Player. I've tried accessing tracks 9-34 through the My Computer Menu, but each time I do, the Windows Media Player quits halfway through booting up. The Cd is not DRM enabled, but the tracklisting was mastered to go from 27-60 instead of 1-34. The liner notes mention that "Disc two is not recognized by Apple computers unless particular software is used under special conditions," and while I don't run a Mac, I figured the software might be useful. The liner notes also say to go on his websites for details, but this yielded absolutely no results. I attempted to find a means of contacting Oswald, but the only thing I got was the address to Mystery Tape Labs all the way in Canada. Does anybody know how to rip the CD?
