It had been announced that HGSS will have a Battle Frontier in Johto.

Whether or not the anime will have a second BF is debatable (although I think they will). However, with both Platinum's and HGSS's BF, will the anime only do one, or somehow incorporate both together? Or, will they just skip the whole thing all together?

Depending on how many facilities the Jotho one has, I wouldn't be surprised if they combined the two.

An extra long battle frontier in Jotho would buy GameFreak more time to create a Gen V.

I'm hoping they conbine both actually. Like PDL said, it'd buy more time, and I personally want to see all of the Gen 4 Frontier Brains showcased...probly because how I hated the neglect the anime has given to several game characters over the years.

The Platinum Frontier is already confirmed to be in Sinnoh.

Chances are the Johto Frontier will have different Brains, so it won't make a difference.

The more Brains, the more chances for Ash's old Pokemon to come back.

Last BF arc, I was really disappointed that Ash didn't use Kingler or Muk, two Kanto classics, in any of those battles.

I hope the writers realize some Pokemon weren't used last time, and at least let Kingler and Muk shine. Likewise, the Kanto pokes returning is a given, and since the Hoenn pokes are now actually fairly old, it'll be interesting to see them come back after 200 eps.

And yeah, I do think the Johto starters + Noctowl will be brought out of retirement since their neglect from 2002 till now just cause of the games.

It was? All I heard was that title of Palmer's episode..but it said something about Twinleaf and BF..w/e then.

And if so, why can't the GSDS Frontiers be placed in Shinou and mixed with the DPP ones? <.< With all the Jouto Pokemon appearing you almost think Shinou is Jouto.

While I still don't think Satoshi will two Battle Frontiers, I do like this combination idea. If the Jouto one is as big as the Shinou one, that would just make the whole thing a little longer than the Kanto one. Considering how there's no Gen 5 news yet, a slightly longer Battle Frontier would fill the time nicely.

A HGSS Battle Frontier? Hopefully they won't incorperate elements from Platinum or Emerald (except the Battle Tower which is given).

What's wrong with Pokethalon.

Doesn't contain any battling. While sure, yes it could be good if Brock or James were to compete. But when talking about the Battle Frontier, we're only talking about Ash, and frankly the Pokethalon is rather boring in that aspect, I want battling, skill of strength and power, not what Pokethalon brings us.

And I highly doubt including battling would make the grade, because Pokemon battles aren't what Pokethalon is about.

Two BF? Why not?

I wonder how they'll incorporate both in one single BF... or they'll keep them separated?

Now what would be really cool would be stuffing one of them into Hoenn...jk.

I would like them to be combined. It would be a really long series, so it would buy plenty of time.

Pokemon Contests don't contain any battling in the games, either, yet the Anime decided to include elements of Battling into it. If they can do it with Contests, whose to say they can't do it for the Pokethalon.

Again, Pokemon Contests didn't have battling either, yet it somehow was incorporated into the anime with Battling.

Actually isn't one of the events in Pokethlon like a sumo wrestling match? How hard would that be to put in the anime? And others like Push Cirlce could easily be a battle, even somewhat a 'triple battle'. I could actually see Brock doing this during the next BF saga.

I would hope that they would incorporate both BF. The Sinnoh one doesn't has symbols or anything remotely like a badge, so maybe it could be a fun thing for the whole gang to try out?

Idk, maybe.

Depending on what the Johto BF, they could do an entire series around it, and maybe some of those old classics, like Totodile and Cyndaquil, maybe even Corphish could evolve.

I personally love the idea of Brock competing in Pokethlons, even it's just a one time thing.

I doubt Takeshi and Kojiro will be the only ones participating in Pokethlon. I highly doubt Pokethlon will a third quest without the other quests suffering, but I think it will be a mini-arc similar to the School-arc with everyone participating. However, if it's only Takeshi and Kojiro, I wouldn't mind. It would be pretty interesting.

About the BFs, I think they'll fuse Platinum's and HGSS' into one big Frontier in Johto. There's a chance the Frontier Brain for the HGSS Battle Tower will be axed with Kurotsugu around.

Entirely different situation, Pokemon Contests are about showing off the Pokemon itself with its own Pokemon moves. Key words being "Moves and attacks"

Pokethalon is really nothing more than a mini-game tournament, just using the Pokemon secret stats. That's it, there isn't more to it. Besides, at least Contests were vague enough to allow battling.

Pokethalon is way too specific unless this turns out to be Pokeringer. Using a Pokemon's moves to distract your opponent, so they don't win.

And also that's besides the point. The point is: Ash has no reason to do this just to collect some medals. Or otherwise he'd be doing contests. And no, "the girls doing the contests" isn't a good enough excuse, because nothing is stopping (except the writers) Ash from entering every contest he comes to.

The summary for that episode referred to "Palmer, the Tower Tycoon of the Sinnoh Battle Frontier." We still don't know if the upcoming Ludicolo episode has Dahlia or not, either.

I have a feeling Dawn may win the Sinnoh Grand Festival and leave afterward, then when they go to Johto Soul joins the group to do Pokéthlon while Ash does the Johto Frontier.
