Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald are the only games where they introduced TWO bicycles, each with their own features.
There's the Acro Bike, which, although slower than the other one, allowed you to do tricks and even "hop" on.
And there's the super-fast Mach Bike, which is fast enough to go up slopes and ride over cracked tiles.

Personally, I found it pretty annoying having to switch bikes whenever I needed the other one. D/P/Pt had just one Bike with two gears. So, it's possible they could re-introduce this, by making the Achro bike the slow gear, and the Mach bike the fast gear.

And then there's also the roller skates. The roller skates are a very good alternative to the Acro Bike, and I actually think it's what GF should do:

So, do you think that GF will do? Will they re-introduce the two bikes separately? Will they have one bike with two gears? Or, will they just stcik with what we already have and keep let the ordinary bike replace the mach bike, and the roller skates replace the acro bike? Or do you think they'll do something completely different?

Probably, as you suggested, have the roller skates (with their tricks) replace the Achro bike, and one, Mach, Bike.

I want them to come back as one bike. Mach + Acro as one, changable via gears. It was a small chore to go back to the bike shop to switch between them (because the Safari Zone had different areas accessible depending on the bike)

Skates aren't as fast as the bike, so I can't see them replacing it.
I'd say gears are more likely, which means the cycle road will only time you if you stick to Mach Mode.

I think the skates would definitely replace the Acro bike to a point: after all, we can already use them to ride on rails and do all sorts of tricks: leaving only hopping to the Acro bike would make it kind of pointless…

Either add "hopping" to the list of things you can do on skates (*unlikely, imo it would make hopping-obstacles too easy to get over) or add another gear to Mach bike.

I found the XY bike almost too fast and too hard to control, so three speeds would be nice: "Acro" speed - the slowest (maybe even slower than skates) but allows you to hop over obstacles, "normal" speed - faster than skates, the basic bike speed for getting around, and "Mach" speed - the fastest speed, allowing you to zoom over obstacles but leaving you with more difficulty controlling the movements.

Both bikes, although I wouldn't be surprised to have 2 gears, would be less of a hassle.

I think maybe there will be one bike and then you can shift gears :) it seems easier :)

To those who wish to have one bike with two gears:

If they do that, what will happen to the roller skates? Will they even have roller skates in OR/AS then?

I hope they'd make one bike a just make it shift gears to go into either mach/acro mode. It was really annoying having to go switch them over and over. I dunno about the roller skates. I guess I wouldn't be that surprised if they did show up, but I'm not to sure.

I'd want the geared bike again. But it is a remake, and there's only so far they're going to go I think. I'm calling two bikes.

Lets be bold! Tricycle is where its at! I wanna roll around in 3 wheeled glory!

I kinda liked the whole two bikes thing, it was interesting that you could've gone some places with one bike but be locked out of some without the other. TBH, I actually wish they'd expand on this a bit more and have whole areas that only each bike could access rather than just small goodies.

I want one bike with two gears and the skates as a separate thing. I just loved messing around with the tricks on the acro bike too much to want it to be replaced.

However, I could definitely see the skates taking over its function.

I'd like the bikes to stay, some areas of Hoenn were creatively put together so you needed one bike or another to gain access and it added to the adventuring in the game imo.

Wow... this is unexpected. I thought most people would pick the third option, and the LEAST people would pick the first option, but it turns out I was COMPLETELY wrong.

So, I guess I'm gonna have to write a longer post on why I think, imo, not only is the third option (roller skates replace acro bikes), the most likely, but it's also the best idea. Hear me out.

Why the first option is unlikely: Firstly, having two bikes the way they were done in RSE was just very inconvenient, especially before you get fly. I mean, I have to walk all the way back to that specific town just to change my bike?! It's so inconvenient, in fact, that I think Gen IV's idea of two gears was made just to remove said inconvenience. If that is true, then it would make more sense for them to bring back the two geared bike instead of two bikes, but...

Why the second option is unlikely: We already have skates. OR/AS will be made from XY's engine, so it would be easier for GF to just use the skates that are already there instead of removing them. Or, they could change the current bike to a two-geared one and keep the skates, but then what would be the point of the skates then if they function almost the same way as the low-geared bike? The easiest option for GameFreak is to just replace all parts of the game involving the Acro bike with the skates. It saves them work and time.

Why the third option is the best idea for consumers: First, as I said before, it's more convenient than having two bikes, that can only be switched at a certain place. You can have both a bike and roller skates in your bag. Second, it's better for newer fans that haven't played the original RS. They'll be familiar with the concept of skates and a bike, but they won't be familiar with the concept of two bikes. Neither will they be familiar with gears if they haven't played DPPt. They'll already know how to use the skates and what they can be used for. And third, finally, the most useless reason, having skates and a bike provides more transportation variety. Two bikes are just TWO kinds of bikes. At least skates and bikes look a lot more different. They provide different mediums of transport, whereas having two bikes just provides... the same medium of transport but two kinds? I mean, having two different mediums seems more creative, imo.

Well, this is just what I think, anyway. I might be wrong. But I hope with what you've read here, you may reconsider your vote on the poll.....
