Two Birds

Two birds sit on the branch of a tree. One of these birds is eating some berries, whilst the other bird simply observes His friend.

Two birds fly high in the sky. One of these birds is scouting for prey, whilst the other bird simply follows His friend.

Two birds bask in the warmth of the Sun. One of the birds catches the Sun's light on his golden wings, whilst the other bird simply receives the shadow cast by His friend.

Two birds communicate with each other. One of the birds sings a song, whilst the other bird simply responds with silence to His friend.

Sweet birds, one of you is who I am whilst the other is who I wish to be. Both of you are me.
 
Was it from Krishna's explanation of the Supersoul in the Bhagavad Gita as the bird who simply watches his friend bird eat the fruits off of a tree?

Yes. I am impressed. This explanation is also found in the Mundaka Upanishad.
