I was watching this episode earlier today, and I swear I can hear James say "that explains why she doesn't know a bloody thing about Team Rocket". It's not a big deal, I'm just not accustomed to hearing them say stuff like that. Do myne ears decieve me?

"Bloody" isn't considered a bad word in the US, which is why a kids' show here is allowed to get away with it.

i just watched the clip in question and yes they do indeed say that
and yes im also surprised to hear it

Is bloody considered a bad word anywhere else?

I hear it all the time in Harry Potter, and just thought it was like saying "darn".

No, it's not bad, I just didn't expect James to say it. Something like "ruddy" would be expected yeah, but I just wondered is all.

Please don't tell me SOVA actually use this line as an arguement to 4kids superiority...

I don't recall SOVA really saying that 4Kids is superior to PUSA and we didn't use this line. I thought Geoffrey was kidding. Anyway, I remember hearing this line. It was kind of weird that James would use the word "bloody" like that, not necessiarly bad weird, but just out-of-the-blue kind of weird.

I was more refering to all the whining over the "Diamond and Pearls!" line, the "I'm thinking about it!" line, and of course the "That Aipom is nuts!" line.

A little something from a show I'd like to call: Hey Arnold.

"Cut down the bloody tree, you idiot!"

In short, I'm sure it's okay to use this word in a lot of kids shows.

Well I don't think "bloody" is a nice word for a kids show. Probally just where I live the word is bad. I remember one day I said the word "bloody" and I got in trouble. But maybe it's different in the United States. I live in Canada

It all depends on where you come from. I live in the UK, and you can pretty much say anything here and get away with it, which is why I'm not offended by James saying "bloody", just amused to a degree. I've never heard them say anything like that before either.

You know that PUSA and 4Kids have the same script writer. Their organisation is about the voice actors so get off your high horse.

Weren't the Aipom line in Battle Frontier still?

Actually, AFAIK only one of three script writers who worked on Advanced Battle (Kathy Borland, Mark Ryan and Carter Cathcart) now works for PUSA.

But, I personaly think, this script freedom has more to do with fact, Pokémon is now aired on CN exclusively. I'm sure if KidsWB still airs Pokémon, they do not allowed such things in script.

Which is why I wish they'd air the full Beauty and the Beach episode on Adult swim xD

I like how Pokemon has gotten a bit looser with the dialoge. It's better, IMHO. Bloody is a curseword in some places, but not here. Still, it's rather amusing. It adds to my unhealthy adoration for James XD

I only remember the "Diamond and Pearls" line really and there were just some people, myself included, who thought that line was really out-of-no-where kind of weird. I think "whining over" is a bit harsh, but say what you will. Like FabuVinny said, the orgainzation is about the voice actors. There are also some moments where lines, not the one on topic, that feel out of character for the characters to say, but we still don't think that 4Kids is superior. We simply prefer the original VAs to the new ones. Sorry for the mini-rant, but I felt like I needed to get that out.
