I just wanted to get an idea as to which types people favour and how many of each they normally have. For my self I always try and have a well balanced team with atleast one of each type as a back up. So like two water types, etc. If its a type I favour then I end up having more, but I end up normally with my favourite Pokemon on my team rather than a team of ubers/semi-ubers.

That's bad having two water types... But you should probably have at least one water type. I favor Ice types because of their versatility.

It's bad having two water types but three electric and three normal types are OK? lol

I don't mean in the same team, I am talking about like if you have a sqaud of say 20 Pokemon you use. How many of each type do you store. I personally would pick a Lapras as one of my Pokemon as its Ice/Water type combo can be very handy

Normal-types arent' that bad, as long as they have good defense stat and you have a good psychic-type or equivalent. Fighting-type is pretty unpopular in general.

Well here are my two teams as of now. I'm working on another team. Takes a bit due to the fact of team construction. BLUH >~>

Team A: (All level 100)
Dark//Murkrow
Overheater//Typhlosion
Puppy//Arcanine
Psy//Latios
Freezer//Dewgong
Swampy//Swampert

Team B: (All level 100)
Medityke//Medicham
Sol//Absol
Weather//Castform
Psy2//Latias
Kayqwaza//Rayquaza
Whiskers//Whiscash

Regarding the nicknames... they are probably some of the most spontaneous nicknames you will find.
I have Lati@s because I was in NYC for my birthday and I found the Pkmn Center (Out of SHEER luck) and so I went back to the hotel and was able to get Latias in my game. 'Twas a special day.

I had a Gyarados...

It kicked everyone's ass.

Move List:::

Lv. 69 (When I beat the Elite 4)

~Hydro Pump
~Hyper Beam
~Thunderbolt
~Ice Beam

Went through the entire Elite 4, all one-hit KO's. (Except for those Gengars, and that one Machamp).

Before competitive battling, my number one priority on a team was to cover as many types as possible, and not to repeat any. I soon found out, that it's not even a priority.

In the gameboy games my party always consisted of:
Water Starter (Severely overleveled as I used NOTHING else in trainer battles, ever.)
Someone with Fly
Someone with Strength
Someone with Whirlpool, Waterfall and Surf
Someone with Cut and Flash
Someone with Teleport/Dig

The games always became absurbly easy playing this way but I'm just not used to doing it anyone other. Upon beating the game, I'd raise a Vs. Mode team which always looked something like this:
Blastoise/Feraligater
Electrode/Ampharos
Arcanine
Alakazam
Dugtrio/Donphan
Gengar/Sneasel

My friends and always made legendaries illegal in link battles.

In Colosseum my ending team is:
Suicune
Raikou
Entei
Medicham
Sneasel
Ampharos

I always unintentionally end up with an over abundance of flying pokemon. Both when I'm going for a more rounded team or have a theme of a type that's not flying, I end up with more then half my party being flying type anyway.

To be fair, though, Flying and Water-types have nearly every other type as a dual type.

A lot of players seem to use to style of traversing the game, but I always have six, evenly leveled Pokémon, that all play an active role in fighting, and still managed to have all the HMs and TMs. Thay way I know its not over if my "leader" goes down for some reason.

My Delibird in Crystal was overleved by 11 levels, but that's because its the only one I used to fight Lance's Dragonite.

Ah, I didn't expect that method to be too common. I managed to play the normal way in FR/LG, as the graphics and gameplay were better. I just didn't have the patience for it back in the first two generations.

I've gone for the classic Grass/Fire/Water/Flying/Electric/Ground team. They've served me well in all generations of games and in competitive play.

Though, with the third generation I found myself looking at more than type. I was introduced to several new concepts like sweepers, tanks, and other roles Pokemon can take. I still use the same type set up but work Pokemon of those types into the needed roles.

I always have a water, psychic and electric (not all at once) in my party and then I work out whatever else I want. I might have 2 waters, but the second is usually water/ice.

Thats cool. Thanks for all the responces. I too find myself swaying to the norm with which I play...Electric, Grass, Fire, Water, Flying then either Ground or Normal
