This is for SCIENCE. Other data samples can be found <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/pkmncollectors/18383.html">here</a> and <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/683283.html">here</a>.

Well? Do you wish they made them? And if so, which characters?

EDIT: Also, feel free to help me gather this important scientific data by asking this on other forums. Please provide me the links when you do! We must see how much want there is for UFO plushies of the human characters! >:O

Stupid question: What's a UFO plushy? I know what the words are separately, but together they just confuse me.

It's a style of plushie found frequently in the claw grabber machines in Japan, which are sometimes called UFO Catchers there.

Most anime character plushies you'll see are made in that style.

DO WANT.

Although I'm totally up for buying custom plushies, dishing out 40 bucks+a few months wait can be so painful. I think the head guys would be pleasantly surprised at how many people would buy these things if they existed.

Picture of said UFO Plushie? I don't know what they look like either.

Oh trust me, you do know.

WANT.

Who specifically? Well, I guess Jessie, James, Sir Aaron, and Brendan (with his blue outfit from the TFG).

WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?!

I'm impartial to the matter. I wouldn't mind if they were made, but I'd much prefer a Tentacruel plushie.

NARUTO?

NARUTO IS THE BEST ANIME EVER!

We need UFO Dolls of Sasuke (OMG! HOT!), Sakura (SEXY!), Naruto (DATTABEYO!), and Might Gaito (DYNAMIC ENTRY!)

Now I know you would probably love a brock doll, just as many others would love Ash, Misty, May, or Harley (in and out of the may costume!)...

but I just don't care enough about the human characters. They're funny in the TV show, but I'd much rather they made a pokedoll for all 493 pokemon.

Actually, what "many others would love" is starting to seem a little different than what you'd might expect.

According to the poll results, Jessie and James are the most popular by a long shot. Next would probably original trio, most notably Ash and Brock.

What's really interesting is that, from what I can gather, the serious collectors are more interested in plushies of male characters, while the more general crowd is more interested in plushies of female characters.

No, really. The pkmncollectors community would pretty obviously rather have Tracey, Gary and Harley than Misty, May and Dawn. The most popular girls there are Jessie/James and Jenny/Joy. The girls have a much stronger showing in the general community, though it's mostly equal with the males. Among them, Jessie/James top the charts (of course), followed by Dawn, Misty, Jenny/Joy, and May. (Strange - even I though May's standing would be better, but it seems comparable to Tracey's.)

The overall least WANTed character, apparently, is Max. Even though he'd be an adorable plushie, wouldn't he?

Other things to note is that the collectors group is smaller, but 100% in the WANT group. The regular group is larger, with currently about 80% WANT and 20% DO NOT WANT.

WANT!

I'd love a Gary plushie. I'd dish out tons of money for a Gary plushie. Hell, I'd like most character plushies. Just Gary most of all.

Actually it's not so weird the males are getting more love. Girls tend to buy plushies more than guys. For fangirls to want to cuddle their favorite guys makes sense.

Actually, some of the most obsessive plushie collectors I've met/seen are male.

In fact, I met a man who called himself Sargent Plushie at Anime Boston. And he had more plushies hanging from his clothes than was reasonable.

Wow, really? Maybe we just hang around different people. I've seen guys call plushies cute, but most of them go for the body pillows and figures. Usually the plush fanatics I see are rabid fangirls.

Maybe it's New England. At Anime Boston, almsot anyone, male or female, will carry a plush around in their arms... but the really notable gung-ho collectors seem to be usually be male. Not just for plushies, but for everything: The collectors of cosplay photos, the Miroku with about ten billion anime keychains hanging off his sash...

I already voted over at one of the LJ communities, but I'll vote over here as well. (I'll even post this on a few other places to get more answers.)

I would love to see plushies of the humans. I've always wanted plushies of the humans even more than the little critters that accompany them. And due to lack of these plushies, I was left with only my two hands to create them. (Ideas are being exchanged to figure out the best way to make a plushie.)

For specific characters, I would like: Ash, May, Max, Tracey, James, Gary, the Johto Gym Leaders, and Harrison. (The last one because I am such a fangirl for him.)

Let's hope the company meets the demands of the people!
