I'm planing on modding my ds just need a few ideas. So far my plan is to build a custom housing to hold dsi xl screens, 2 ds cartridge slot, a gba cartridge slot, i'm thinking about taking apart one GBA SP and add the adaptor for linking, and if i can within the housing a 3g mobile hotspot if i can find a cheap one that does not require a data plan. Cameras might be implemented but not sure yet. Well on to real reason i've called us geeks together was to ask for advice on how i should build it and of course how to change the main menu screen on the ds.


I was going to put this tech help but after some thought it seemed better in hear.
Sorry if you thought i was going somwhere different on this!!
 
If I were you, I'd wait for the 3DS before making any ds purchases or planning on modding any because it may turn out to have things better or turn out better/more useful in the long run.
 
Well, if you're putting a DSi XL screen in a DS phat, you're gonna want to make custom speakers and buttons that will fit in what's left of the housing. If you want cameras, maybe take a DSi lens and put it on the front part of it, not the corner like the DSi (so it won't be at an angle). Maybe to save space you can put the link adapter between the two DS game slots, although it would be best to just leave it with the wireless communications. You can leave the GBA slot as it is. I hope my advice helped!
 
Yeah that should help just been looking up parts online. I am suprised at how much there are
