Well, I just noticed that my copy of Pokemon Ruby has been hit with the Berry Glitch. When I went to patch it with my FireRed cartridge, I got hit with a message "Unable to update Berry Program." I checked the link cable position, switched the two GBAs around (one regular, one SP), tried LeafGreen instead of FireRed, but nothing worked. Unfortunately, I do not have the Colosseum bonus disc, so that's out. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I did buy both Ruby and Sapphire used, but Sapphire was apparently patched when I bought it, because upon connecting Sapphire to FireRed, the message was something along the lines of "There is no need to update your Berry Program." Also, my Ruby file was recently deleted due to my turning the game off while it was saving. Also, the majority of the time, I play Ruby on a DS lite. Lastly, when I got Ruby, the game was saved while the player is in the moving truck, so I can't say for sure whether or not the original owner used an Action Replay or other such device. Would any of these factors cause a problem with the Berry Patch?
Guess I'll have to send it in to Nintendo to fix this.
Edit:
I did not receive a message about the battery running dry, just noticed that my clock never goes past 10:40 PM.
Edit Edit:
It just came to my attention that the cartridge in question was a counterfeit cartridge.
