You know what i dont understand? How come people always dis and make fun of people like us for playing pokemon? I mean, take my sister, shes always telling me how gay i am for playing pokemon and how gay it is blah blah blah. But one of her friends plays pokemon! And she dosent hound on her! To all those out there who need to play pokemon in secret, in your room where nobody can make fun of you... YOUR NOT ALONE! We should all stand up for our right to play pokemon! Who says pokemon cant be just like another game!? Together we can put it through peoples minds that pokemon is the same as all games! WE CAN BE HEARD! -Ok i know that your all thinking that someone needs to stop drinking the sugary sodas before bed (points to self)

You mostly only get ripped on for it if you're hanging around immature people. I'm 20 and still playing and nobody gives me grief anymore.

Back in the day when I was playing Red and Blue in middle school, I would catch crap for it, but children are just mean. If not ripping on you for that, they'll rip on you for something else.

Think of it as a rite of passage. You have to go through this intolerance to become a well-rounded person.

Yes. Yes they do get ripped on for that. But only in the same situations as above.

Honestly, I don't get a lot of trouble with this - Usually, no one knows I play Pokemon if not for one shirt or an occasional reference in which I am usually making fun of something.. Just say, "It's fun, and requires strategy; it isn't like the Pokemon TV show, it's just a video game like any other."

If they continue to bother you, try yelling "Well, you're ugly!" and walk away, -hold your DS right up to your face while mumbling "KILLZOR the Magnemite used Thunder Shock! SUPER EFFECTIVE!" :drowsy:

I think you mean "you're" - as in "you are", in place of the second and third "your"s.

My sister plays Pokemon too, and she makes fun of me for merely playing more than she does.. it's just a sibling sort of thing.

He's just being angry because he gets made fun of for playing Pokemon, so obviously a good solution is to make fun of him more. D;
And I agree that it's unfair how we get made fun of just because we play the game. How would they feel if we picked out something they enjoy doing and called it dumb and gay?
 
strangelly noone has givin me much grief at all for likeing pokemon where i live not many people like pokemon but noone makes fun of me for likeing it everyone knows im the pokemon obsessed kid to but 1 of my my friends that are christains think pokemon is evil and she tried to make me quit watching pokemon but we decided to quit talking after that because she just kept harassing about it but yea if you like something and someone else doesnt that doesnt give them the right to call you gay or a baby for likeing it they need to mind there own buissness because there probobly the ones who watch barney and friends secretly in the closet lol
 
He's annoying because he's bitching about something we've all hadd to go through. He thinks we need to have this so called big movement where we stand up for our rights to play Pokemon. Let me ask you, why do you care what they think? Are they your friends? If they are and they are making fun of you, why are you even their friend?

And really, what do you mean stand up for our right to play? Do you mean resort to needless name calling, showing your anger, which is actually what they want? Or do you act like an annoying fanboy going "KILLZOR the Magnemite used Thunder Shock! SUPER EFFECTIVE!" Trust me, no matter what game you are playing, you are going to be ripped on for acting like an annoying fanboy. Heck, even I wanted to kill this kid who was the same age as me because he wouldn't stop singing the Pokemon theme song, and kept annoying everybody. Why because he is making the rest of us look bad.

Or maybe you mean we should just go out and play our Pokemon games in public? Wasn't that the problem? That you were afraid to play it in public because for some reason you felt like you needed to be accepted by these immature twits who make fun of you for your hobbies?

Wow, L isnt the nicest guy around... No, i mean, we should ALL just play pokemon in public, not hide in our rooms, if alot of us do this, people may start to relize that pokemon is commonly used.... And for the record, my few friends are mega poke freaks. like i would want to try to act different to meet jack-asses standereds.
 
OK, if you want to play in public that is fine but don't bitch and moan to us whenever people make fun of you. This is why I don't tell people I play pokemon, I would be ridiculed to no end. I'm not lying to people by not telling them I am just not showing a certain part of me.
 
But you ought to be able to do something as simple as play an enjoyable game in public without being targeted.

I don't see why people *wouldn't* be honest with people. Not like screaming it from the rooftops, but why bother go out of your way to hide it? If it comes up, let it come up, and screw anyone who thinks bad of you for it.
 
I would rather not be made fun of for the remaining 4 and half years of my school career. If it was just a few people I would be fine with it but when it is EVERYONE then I would prefer to keep it to myself.

I was made fun of my entire school career, and you know what? I'd rather have been myself than kept my interests quiet to be popular. It's not worth it.
 
Oh trust me... I am NOT popular. I have my friends and I pretty much hate the rest. You are talking to an extreme nerd and an effeminate one at that...
 
I'll admit, I've gotten some grief from some of my friends for playing Pokemon, but I just explained to them that so long as I'm not going around in a Pikachu T-shirt or wearing PokeBall spotted boxers, I'm just playing a game, just like anyone else. That was pretty much all it took, and it even got a couple of them to swallow their own pride and get their own copies of the Gen IV games. (Though, I had to explain some of the new mechanics to them, like natures and abilities, since they hadn't played any thing past Gen I.)
