I've been wondering, as it happened to me, if anyone has had any issues with your trainer name when using Unova Link?
I mean.. I always use the same trainer name for every pokemon game. So since I got Black 2 everytime I watch a flashback and a character refers to my Pokemon White trainer it kinda gets on my nerves because both trainers have the same name.

I did the exact same thing! It was a little odd... But I like to think of it as a coincidence that they have the same name. It's not all that uncommon to have someone else in the world with the same name!

Well, that depends on what you named yourself. If it's a common name like John or Emma or something, you shouldn't be surprised.

If it's something rare or uncommon...hey, great minds think alike.

I, by default, name my characters according to their in-game default/NPC version's names so I don't actually have this problem. Hilbert's legacy therefore lives on as Nate discovers the new Unova Region, for example.

Maybe you shoulda chosen a different name for Black2, then?...

Unfortunatly I've only discovered unova link after I started the game so I didn't have that much of a choice to think of another name or just keep the default one.

Still I guess I'll have to bear with that from now on lol, gonna take the coincidence suggestion ;)

I named my B2 character my email handle (first initial, middle name) because I used my real first name in Black.

Since my White had my real name, and I wanted to use my real name for White 2, I ended up using my Black (I named the PC Black) for Memory Link.

I gave both the same name, but it was really obvious whenever they meant the White character rather than the White 2 character, so I didn't have any issues with it.

Yeah it gets obvious. Still, it sounds weird to me lol

I generally name the PC "Ryago" dunno why, but because of the Memory Link I decided to go on and name myself "Spark", which is what most people call me. That way, no paradoxes!

...Of course, that brings the problem of my White character having a Jolteon with the same name as my White 2 Character but

That's why I give all my characters unique names. It makes it feel like a new adventure when it's a new person playing.

It's a good point of view! Tried doing that once, but playing with other names doesnt feel the same for me lol

I usually give my character different names. This time I decided to name myself Yukino and my Snivy Maetel. (in my Original white I named myself Cereza and my snivy Jeanne)

I always give my character the same name, but I can tell when they're talking about my BW character and my B2 character, so it's not that big of a deal for me.

i like to pretend that i'm still the same person but no one recognizes me haha. i know its really far from being true, but hey, i did do all those things lol.

I just like to think my character's some sort of "chosen one", and that's why he coincidentally has the same name as the hero from two years prior.

given that I've grown rather fond of the Adventures/Special manga, I've sort of gotten the habit of naming characters similarly. in White, I named the PC Black (long after I found that this guy had a Braviary), and in my Black 2, perhaps to make a mild joke towards what we THOUGHT would have succeeded the original Black and White, I named the PC Grey.

it does occur to me now how same versions are sequals to each other, granted, my White has that Event Reshiram, but that's besides the point...

like legend of zelda! i've always sorta felt this way too

it'd make more sense if Nate had a hat... but that's a visor.

not that I mind, I'm getting tired of baseball caps anyways... and how for some oddball reason characters with long hair can just have it sticking out of the hat like it was no problem... (Hilda, N, you know you're guilty. HOW DO YOU DO IT!?)
