Unovia's Hisui Run

Pokedex Update
1024px-LA_Pokédex.png
This is the Current Listing of Pokemon I have yet to get in the game:
Hisuian Decidueye
Hisuian Samurott
Ursaluna
Porygon 2
Gengar
Hisuian Electrode
Sneasler
Hisuian Avalugg
Hisuian Zoroark
Hisuian Braviary
Tornadus
Thundurus
Landorus
Enamorus
Giratina
Arceus

It is the hope that if I do these evolutions and such, keeping some base forms as needed, as well as getting any other pages I can to Level 10 Complete, I might get to 10th Star, which while it would not bother me either way, would be an interesting development, don't you think?

Until the next time, we will see you!

Season 6 In Review
The Season began with my banishment from the Village, leading me to track down Lian and Mai, who did nothing to help me. Volo brought me to the Ancient Retreat, where I met Cogita, a mysterious woman who knows more than she seems.

At that point, I had to choose who I wanted to travel with. I like Palkia more, so Irida was my choice. After that, we explored the Lakes, collected the Red Chain, then took some time to do some small requests.

Returning to the story, we defeated Beni, who actually was ninja-like, and Kamado, who did not like me getting in his way. Then, I caught Palkia, gathered some Origin Ore, made the first Master Ball, then went to catch Dialga. A few more small quests after that, and we began to hunt for the rest of the Plates.

As far as going after the Plates of Arceus, originally I had planned to do one Plate a day and stretch out the season a bit, but I got going with speed. First was the Stone Plate through attacking a Vespiquen, then the Draco Plate after catching the Lake Guardians. I almost died when Heatran blocked me in his cave, but managed to get the Iron Plate. Cresselia was tricky because of the confusion barrier, but soon she was captured and the Dread Plate was mine.

Remembering that there was another member to the Lunar Duo, I captured Darkrai, then hunted Shaymin. From there, I continued my Plate Quest, getting the Blank Plate from Regigigas and the Fist Plate from Kamado of all people.

After a few days of Hiatus, I trained Oshawott and Rowlet, gave my Main Team enough Effort Levels to get to Level 7 or 8, then tracked Volo down at the Celestica Ruins. Taking some time to train at the Training Grounds, I ended the Season by defeating Volo and getting the Spooky Plate. Volo left, and I played the Azure Flute, with no response from God yet.

In the next Diary entry, the first of Season 7, we will talk about what has happened post Volo. Until the next time, we will see you!

Welcome To Season 7, The Hunt For Arceus!

Dear Diary,
Upon coming back from the Temple of Sinnoh, I was first met by Laventon, who told me that there were mentions of a big shadow (I know it's Giratina) in the Cobalt Coastlands. Giratina will wait a few days yet. I feel bad for the Cobalt Coastlands, but I have some things to do first.
320px-Legends_Arceus_Cogita.png
Going into the Survey Corps building, I met Cogita, who told me about the three Genies, Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus. Landorus is at Ramanas Island, Thundurus is in the Coastlands, and Tornadus is in the Icelands. They all need certain conditions to spawn.

Much like Giratina, they will wait a bit.
320px-Legends_Arceus_Rei.png
Most of this Season will revolve around finishing the Captures and the Dex entries, if possible, including any evolutions. I can't get to Arceus without seeing all of the Pokemon, so off we go.

In the next Diary entry, we will finish evolving Rowlet & Oshawott, or should I say, Dartrix and Dewott, to their final forms, Decidueye and Samurott. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H230-The Other Two Starters
1024px-Hisuian_first_partners_anime.png
Dear Diary,
I took the opportunity to finish Dartrix and Dewott. I managed to evolve them to their full forms, Decidueye and Samurott. I did not evolve to Final form until the Starter pages were all Level 10. Might as well try to finish as much of the Dex as I can while I am working on these.

I have decided to keep Decdueye and Samurott (who are in the low 40's) in my Team as I work on other Pokemon I need to evolve. Might I end up with a new Team as a result? Possibly. But it really doesn't matter to me.

For most of the areas, low 40's allow me to safely escape or defeat the offending Pokemon.

In the next Diary entry, we will deal with Gengar. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H231-Gengar & The Linking Cord
800px-0094Gengar.png
Dear Diary,
Before I begin this entry, let me talk about how awesome the Linking Cord item is. I wish it had been done in earlier games. This was the first time I had gotten a Gengar without some kind of trading help.

When I was going through my boxes looking to empty them to get more Grit items, one of the Pokemon I had cleared out was duplicate Haunters. I kept one that was Level 27. That one, combined with the Linking Cord, gave me my Gengar.

I went to the Training Grounds and bought Shadow Ball, since one of the tasks for Gengar was access to Shadow Ball and using it. When I had first gotten Gengar, it was Level 4. By the time I had gotten it to Level 10, Gengar was in the low 30's, and I am still carrying it with me.

In other news, I also got a Shiny Psyduck! In the box it went.

My Current Team:
Hisuian Decidueye
Hisuian Samurott
Gengar
0175Togepi.png
As I was training Gengar, a Mass Outbreak of Togepi came out in the Cobalt Coastlands. In my survey of my boxes, it turns out I had only had a single Togepi, which I had evolved to Togetic. My Togepi Dex entry had gotten to Level 7 before I had evolved it to Togetic, so I needed to capture more Togepi to finish the entry. I captured somewhere between 4 & 6 to actually complete its Dex entry. I will bring out Togetic to actually train it soon enough.

For now, it's Porygon's turn.
0137Porygon.png
As I was looking through the boxes, seeing what I was missing, I was specifically looking for things that were not fully evolved. One of these Pokemon was Porygon. I have a regular Porygon and an Alpha. I was worried I only had the Alpha. I also have a Porygon Z from a Distortion as the Porygon family can only be gotten through Distortions.

I still don't have Porygon 2. Somehow. I guess I wasn't lucky. Porygon's current Dex entry amount is Level 5. That means I want to train it to Level 10 until I get to Porygon 2.

Porygon is Level 5 in the Dex page. I have a regular and Alpha.
Porygon 2 has not been gotten yet.
Porygon Z is an Alpha, and is Level 4 in the Dex page.

I have added my non Alpha Porygon (Level 22) to my Team. It will be a while before I do the next Diary entry, which will talk about Porygon, Porygon 2, and Porygon Z, which I want to get to Level 10 in the Dex entries before I move on.

Until the next time, we will see you!

I don't think you need to get all the Pokemon to level ten to meet Arceus. I think you just need to have caught all Pokémon. I don't remember.
Catching all Pokemon is the requirement for Arceus. However, this is the easiest game to finish the Pokedex, and get the Shiny Charm in, so I want to see if I can.

Fact is, I have all of the Pokemon required for it, minus some evolutions. For most of the Level 10 statuses, all you have to do is:
A. Catch a bunch of them to overwhelm the other requirements or
B. Train the Pokemon.

Plus, I want to see if I can get the 10th Star. I can't leave that possibility open.

Log #H232-Porygon, The Forgotten Pokemon
0137Porygon.png
Dear Diary,
I took my Porygon to Zisu, as one of the tasks on the entries for Porygon was to have it use Thunder Bolt. The other task was with Tri Attack. In the Crimson Mirelands, I was able to raise Porygon to Level 10. Then I went back to Jubilife Village to buy the Upgrade & Dubious Disc.

The Upgrade would bring Porygon to Porygon 2. Taking the opportunity, I trained Porygon 2 to a 10 in the Dex pages, then evolved it to a Porygon Z using the Dubious Disc. I know I already had a Porygon Z I could have used, but I wanted to take the Porygon all the way to Porygon Z.

After some training, Porygon Z got to Level 10. I am keeping Porygon Z in my Team.

Current Team
Decidueye
Samurott
Gengar
Porygon Z
800px-0446Munchlax.png
Looking at the Dex, I realized that I needed more Munchlax to finish the Dex Entry. I had only managed to get one this entire time, which was in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

A Mass Outbreak of Munchlax happened to be showing up in the Alabaster Icelands. I was nervous to go with this Team, but I managed to go there, capturing nine more Munchlax to complete the entry.

Another entry down.

In the next Diary entry, we will evolve an Hisuian Sneasel to Sneasler, then train it to max out the Entry while we are here. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H233-Sneasels Hisuian Form-Sneasler
0903Sneasler.png

Dear Diary,
Looking at the Pastures, I saw that I had 3 Hisuian Sneasels. Two were Level 44 and one was Level 54. I took the Level 54 and evolved it to Sneasler.
Turns out, even though I had some experience with Sneasler due to training with Ingo, I only was up to Level 6 on the Dex entry.
I added Sneasler to the Team and decided to train in the Coronet Highlands. Sneasler is the highest Level Pokemon in the Team.
The Current Team:
Decidueye-Level 48
Samurott-Level 45
Gengar-Level 38
Porygon Z-Level 33
Sneasler-Level 55
1024px-Space-time_Distortion_Hisuian_Snow.png
I happened to wander into a Distortion, where I captured another Cranidos. This one was much higher Level, but I wanted to complete the Dex entry at some point. No Shieldon yet, so I am staying in the Highlands for a while, testing the Distortions until I catch the other fossil.
800px-0216Teddiursa.png
The next Diary entry will involve evolving Ursaring to Ursaluna using the Peat Block during a Full Moon. Since I will only have one shot at this, I have to figure out if I have a non Alpha Ursaring or if I need to train up a Teddiursa to complete this task.

We will figure it out, then do the evolution, then post about it. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H234-Evolving Ursaring Under A Full Moon
800px-0216Teddiursa.png
Dear Diary,
So, it turned out that I did not have an Ursaring other than an Alpha. I did not want to evolve the Alpha Ursaring, so I decided to train up some Teddiursa. I had a male and a female Teddiursa, and because I only had one Peat Block, I thought I had to figure out which one I had to evolve.

Both Teddiursa were Level 29, and they had pretty much identical stats. I quickly trained to get both Teddiursa up to Level 30, when they could be evolved to Ursaring.
0901Ursaluna.png
I got both Ursaring out, though I was not sure which one I wanted to evolve. I put both away, then returned Sneasler back into my Team. I also got out my Hisuian Voltorb (Level 56) into my Team.

In the Crimson Mirelands, I explored a bit, then managed to dig up another Peat Block. Now I had to wait for a Full Moon. Waiting for the Full Moon took a bit, but soon, I got both Ursaring to be Ursaluna. Now I have two Ursalunas.

I returned both to my boxes, then returned my Hisuian Voltorb back into my Team.

Current Team
Decidueye

Dear Diary,
Having finished Ursaluna, I decided to go train my strongest Hisuian Voltorb (Level 56). I managed to train Hisuian Voltorb, getting said Voltorb's Dex entry to Level 10.

Once I did that, using the Cobalt Coastlands, I evolved Voltorb to Electrode. I was surprised I only had a single Leaf Stone for this purpose. I now have a second Team complete.

In the next Diary entry, I will be getting Bergmite to Avalugg and Rufflet to Braviary.

Until the next time, we will see you!

If I haven't said already, thank you to the 6,000+ Views of this Playthough. We still have much to do, so please continue to watch and read.

Dear Diary,
We had only a few Pokedex entries to fill. The first of which was getting Bergmite to Avalugg. While we were there, we decided to get the Dex entry to Level 10 before we evolved it.

We placed Hisuian Electrode in the box to place in Bermite. Once Bergmite was able to get to Avalugg, we boxed it too.
0627Rufflet.png
We switched Avalugg for Rufflet. It was easiest to train Rufflet in the Mirelands, due to having a lot of Grass Types. At the same time, we also captured a shiny Budew. We got Rufflet to Level 9 in the Dex entry, then evolved it, getting a Hisuian Braviary as well as finishing Rufflet's Dex entry.

We don't have much to do as far as missing Dex entries. I switched my Team I had been using for this hunting process back to my Main Team.

Main Team:
Typhlosion
Luxray
Sylveon
Torterra
Drapion
Goodra

It was time to go hunt some more Legendaries. In the next Diary entry, we will go capture Giratina. About time! Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H237-Hunting Giratina New
1024px-Giratina_Pokémon_Legends_Arceus.png
Dear Diary,
The last time I had seen Giratina, it had fought alongside Volo in their battle. After that, it had fled to the Cobalt Coastlands, where it rested and waited. Luckily, I knew where Giratina fled to. Turnback Cave.
487Giratina_Origin_Forme_Dream_3.png
Turnback Cave
It took me a little bit to get there, but I managed to do so. There, Giratina was in its Origin Form. There was a cutscene, where Giratina and I stared each other down. Then the battle to capture it began.

I opened with Luxray. Paralysis is the best status in this game, hands down! I used Thunder Wave, and Giratina used Earth Power. Deciding to switch, I brought out Sylveon. Giratina used Shadow Force, but Sylveon stood firm. One Dazzling Gleam severely weakened Giratina. One Ultra Ball, and Giratina was mine.
320px-Legends_Arceus_Professor_Laventon.png
Meeting with Laventon, he told me that Volo met with him, saying that the Pokedex Project was important, and that Giratina sensed that when it was defeated in my battle against Volo.

Volo apparently disappeared, never to be seen again.

In the next Diary entry, we will talk about the three genies. Until the next time, we will see you!

Dear Diary,
Whether you call them the Forces of Nature, the Genies, or the three Buff Men, it was tie to go hunt down the trio.

Where are they located?
  • Landorus is at Ramanas Island during a sunny day.
  • Thundurus is in the Coastlands during a rain storm.
  • Tornadus is in the Icelands during a blizzard.

We managed to capture them all! In the next Diary entry, we will discuss the hunt for Landorus. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H239-Landorus At Ramanas Island New
250px-Forces_of_Nature_anime.png
Dear Diary,
I headed to Ramanas Island in search of Landorus (the orange one). Only when I encountered it did I realize how hard this was going to be. Landorus (Level 70) is very fast, and it seemed that the Pokemon of the island were all irritated enough to help protect him.

It unleashed tornados of sand at me, and I nearly died (this will be a common theme for these hunts, the dying part).

I grew up with the Legendary Beast hunting, and I thought that was bad. This was brutal. I had to attack it from behind three times to actually trigger the fight, since it also had shields.

Once the fight started, for some reason, I didn't remember the typing of the thing. Turns out, it is Ground and Flying. That meant my standard practice of Paralyze, Weaken, and Catch would not work. I would have to get creative.

I returned Luxray, then sent out Goodra. I thought it could survive a Hydro Pump. No. That killed it...

Cue another hunt down, and another opportunity. This time, I sent out Torterra. One Rock Slide, an Ultra Ball, and I had it. Landorus was mine. Turns out, he would be the easiest of the group.

In the next Diary entry, we will go after Thundurus in the Coastlands. Until the next time, we will see you!

Dear Diary,
Having captured Landorus in the last entry, it was time to go after Thundurus (Level 70) in the Coastlands. To trigger this hunt, I needed to have a storm going on. Then, I had to chase the stupid thing down. Here I was, sailing on Basculegion, thinking I couldn't die, when the stupid genie would kill me, and make me drown.

Several attempts later (and a lot of resetting), and I managed to get to the battle stage. Once again, I did not remember the typing. It is Electric and Flying. That meant, once again, my strategy would not work (sorry Luxray).

I sent out Torterra, used Rock Slide, got the thing weakened, and captured it in an Ultra Ball. Thundurus was mine. I just had one more (or so I thought).

In the next Diary entry, we will go after Tornadus in the Icelands. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #H241-Tornadus In The Icelands New
250px-Forces_of_Nature_anime.png
Dear Diary,
Having hunted Landorus (the orange one) and Thundurus (the blue one), it was time to chase down the last genie. Tornadus (Level 70) was in the Alabaster Icelands. I had to wait for a blizzard, then I had to remember where it was. It was in the Bonechill Wastes. It's the green one.

Did I mention how much I really hate Glalie? I really hate Glalie! Stupid thing would act as body guard to the genie, meaning I would have to blast my way through only to repeatedly die.

Several attempts later, and I got to the battle stage. Tornadus is pure Flying, so I could Paralyze, drop its health, and catch. Luxray got to be the hero here.

The three Genies were mine. To complete the task, I had to show Cogita a completed dex entry page for the trio. Going back to the Village, I took the three buff dudes to the Training Grounds, where I worked to get the completed entries. Did not take long.

In the next Diary entry, we will check in with Cogita, see what she says. Until the next time, we will see you!

Dear Diary,
Having done what I needed to do, I checked in with Cogita, who congratulated me, then introduced the fourth Force of Nature...Enamorus.

Unlike the others, Enamorus (Level 70) was Female. Cogita tasked me with chasing in down in the Crimson Mirelands.

Enamorus is a Fairy and Flying Type. Probably going to have to finish the Dex entry for this thing too, aren't I?

I am in the process of trying to catch it in the Scarlet Bog, which is going to take me a while, since this thing is stupid fast. I hate Mud Bomb, which acts like a heat seeking missile. All of the monsters in the Mirelands are super aggressive. This is going to suck for a while.

In the next Diary entry, we will detail our hunt for Enamorus and the completing of the Dex entry. Until the next time, we will see you!

My favorite funny interaction from this game is when you get the plate from Cogita after getting her the bits of wood. Its like:
Volo: Ah, so these pieces of wood will lead us to where the plates are?
Cogita: No I just need a new cutting board.
Volo: What?
