Storyline
There is a difference between living and surviving, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. But what if we lived in a world where the line was blurred, living was just survival with a few comforts.

We live in this kind of world now, ever since it happened. “It” was the biggest event to ever define human history, “it” was supposed to be a new age in human evolution. “It” was actually called “Development” by our government. “Development” was a government program, the goal was to give disabled people their abilities back. Eventually a vaccine was made, it was produced and distributed across the U.S. in small increments for testing. The vaccine was supposed to be tested, but the program lost public appeal and government funding went with it. The testing samples were stored underground in all areas they were shipped to.

20 years later

Democracy is now just a worldwide dream, the power is fought over relentlessly

1 year later

The unstable power led to nuclear response...after a few more months there was a worldwide nuclear fallout. All government is now gone, millions of people are dead. The few that are left survive in national fallout bunkers. The test samples were found in the bottom of these bunker storage units...oblivious to what this stuff was people injected it thinking it was a nutrient I.V. injection. The shots had no effect on the people that directly took them.

5 years later

A few more thousand die in the bunkers due to famine and sickness. A shining day rises on the horizon, the day that we are allowed back on the surface. The nuclear response teams have deemed the hydrogen based fission bombs have worn off.

2 months later

Across the country the word is spread of the new surface life and “restarting the human race”. Children are born, this is when they realize the injections did have an effect. The new children have heightened abilities respective to what each disability injection was meant to “fix”.

25 years later

All the previous parents are dead, people no longer generally live to be past 40...the new generation is now alone and left to fend for themselves. They are all around 15-25, they are divided into 2 classes: mortals and mutants.

4 months later

Humans by nature look for leaders, which once again has led to fighting. Our newest “leader” in this society has gained massive public support on the platform of blaming the mutants for mortals problems.

Specifics
You may take one of these roles in the RP:

Mortals: You are normal human beings, you fight the mutants with any weapons that you find. (Mortals will get a handicap, which is that they already know weaknesses of them mutants. Should they choose to use them, but please don't exploit them to a point to destroy the RP. And mortals will have limited stockpiles of weapons.)

Mercuries: Named for the Roman God, these mutants possess the ability of high-speed locomotion and great free-running ability. Though not the fastest things to ever walk this earth, they can run at speeds topping out at 80 mph with practice. Strangely, the cold deeply inhibits their speed but they still retain slightly above average speed and good free-running.

Seekers: These mutants have the ability of amazing hawk-like sight. They also have a lock-on ability that lets them distinguish their targets from anyone in a crowd or on any backdrop. Bright light in their eyes usually throws off their lock-ons, sunglasses help to avoid this.

Faders: These mutants can change color and tend to “fade” away into backdrops...they are completely undetectable by anything accept if a Seeker has locked onto them before they go into a cloak.

Trackers: They have an amazing sense of smell and hearing, their instincts tend to control them if they don't have the willpower. They follow scents across hundreds of miles with only a few new scent traces. Multiple scents fused can sometimes throw them off for a while.

Processors: They have heightened brain power, their problem solving rivals super computers. They can make complex gadgets out of everyday items on the spot. High frequency noise (above average human hearing range) stops their higher level thinking.

Hell's Healers: They can absorb life energy (mana) from any living object and manipulate it to do things such as: healing and forming natural traps (ex: turning grass into solid little needles). These special mutants require a living source for power (ex: absorbing energy from grass, thus killing it, to heal). So in common terms, Hell's Healer take life to give it. Hell's healers may form mana into electricity to power objects. They cannot absorb it from humans or animals that resist it.

Brawlers: This group has superior strength, they can easily bend steel without trying. The extent of their strength is nothing less than the force of a bulldozer hitting you at its top speed. Once again, the cold inhibits their greatest strength but they still keep some of it.

Defenders: These individuals can harden their skin to be as strong as diamond, forming battle armor. Though this defense is not always active so sneak attacks are the most effective tactic.

The Rules
1)No godmodding, or anything of the sort.
2)Combinations of powers will result in slight reduction of one or both powers (decided by me); these combos will be known as “half breeds”
3)All survivors will start in the bunker located in Washington D.C., you may choose to run anywhere in North America because we have been quarantined there. But I will warn you, salvation is nowhere...all major urban centers hold human survivors and of course a few mutants (which I will control or we will use as spawn points for new players) that will aid other soldiers for their side.
4)Disputes will be decided by me after both sides get to tell their side of the story.
5)Humans may not align with mutants and mutants may not align with humans. The only time when betrayals will be tolerated are in life and death situations such as:
“Tell us where your friends are hiding or we are going to kill you”
and even then you should not kill any of your own kind.
6)Everything that you need will need to be scavenged (ex: food, ammo, medical supplies, etc.)
7)*Important* Characters will die, this is meant to be an RP where characters die and then you make a new character to take his/her place.
8)*Also Important* This RP will be mature, deaths may be graphic and language may be brutal.
9)Have Fun!

Two More Things...

-The two sides are not currently violent, I will make a general post stating when tensions result in violent conflict. This does not mean that the two sides like each other though, they don't.
-The point of this (look at the name) has to do with sticking together. Mutants can separate and die or stick together and flourish, the choice is yours. They are out numbered by mortals greatly.

Okay this seriously reminds me too much of Fallout 3 or maybe I play it too much...

Name: Selene

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Ability: Hell's Healer

Weapon of Choice: Semi Auto Mini Uzi

Appearance: Selene has long copper blond hair pulled tightly into a ponytail. Her clothes usually consist of tight black jeans and a loose fitting brown cotton blouse. She wear black hiking boots and a gun holster in her outer pant loops. Her eyes are a dark chocolate hue tinted with tiny flaming sparks. She wears a silver chain with a small dagger under her blouse for close combat.

Personality: Selene is very calm. Her calm personality helps her in emergencies and fighting. She becomes sad after killing something but know's it is the only way to survive. She is very practicable.

Background: Selene's parents were killed when she was a little girl. Two seeker's found her a discovered her natural abilities as a healer. They trained her to be good at combat and she became a natural asset to them. She continued to live with the seekers until her sixteenth birthday when she decided it was time to make her own living. Now she travels North America in search for something greater, a life without corruption.​

Personality: Tye is generally a very kind person, though when he has stress put on him his kindness tends to linger a little behind. He doesn't have much of a problem killing, if it is his life or another's. Due to living alone for majority of his life, he longs for companionship. He trys to keep up a cool front and succeeds most of the time, but he can be soft sometimes.
Background: Tye lost his mother and father at a young age like most of the other "survivors"...he has been living on his own this entire time.

Personality: Buck is fairly headstrong and lets his gun do his talking. He dislikes different things, which began his hate for the mutants.
Background: Buck was raised until the age of 10 when his mother died, shortly after his father...He lived on his own, killing anyone in his way

What do you mean it will be decided by you which power will be reduced in a half-breed?
 
Well, it will depend on the 2 powers selected for balancing issues and I didn't feel like posting evey nook and cranny for power rules...Dyou have your eye on 2?

You would have to have a reduction in a form of something like...you can only use plants for your Hell's Healer abilties. Because you really just picked the two hardest to combine on my part...

Weapon of Choice: a dual elite gun and a D3AU1 sniper rifle

Appearance: Albus has a weird taste for clothing. He wear a white eyepatch on his left eye, a white cloak with an eagle print on it.
He wear a dark blue polo shirt, a jeans and a dark blue bracelet. He also got a scar on his left eye(he cover it with his eyepatch.) That he got because of fighting some street punk.
And for his appearance, he stands at 6"5. He has a sea blue eyes, and red spiky hair. And muscular body.
He wear an inline skates wherever he go, he can't be separated with his inline skates.

Personality: Albus is a free spirited Inline skater and breeder. He is the type of person that will do everything he want, anytime he want. He's always enjoy every moment of his life and never regretted everything he has done.
He is kind to everyone, including stranger he just met. He can easily make friends wherever he go.
And just like any other teen, he love girls, but he's not a pervert.
kazu is also interested in arts, such as music, painting and poetry.

Background: Albus grow up in an orphanage, so he's always on his own ever since he was a kid. He's very skillfull with guns and composing music, since his mother is a music composer and his father is a mercenary

Appearance: Ara has long blond hair almost always tied up in a ponytail. She wears an orange tanktop with removable straps and a gray jacket over it. Ara wears normal jeans and some running shoes, or Converse. Her eyes are a bright sparkly blue-green. Ara is a bit tall for her age, and she's skinny. She weighs an average weight. Like model-body. Her eyes change colour, though. They can be amber-coloured, blue-green, a dark gray, and even a shade of purple.

Personality: Ara is sweet, kind-hearted, and caring, but she's absolutely vicious. She's good at sneaking sides, and her personality tends to make people think she's on the opposite side. When Ara is angry, she's violent and hard to escape from unhurt. Ara is also somewhat shy, naive, and even a bit timid. She is quiet yet talkative. Ara isn't annoying, though, not at all.

Background: Ara was born into a rather rich family (for the time) and was unlike her siblings and parents. When she was 7, she began learning how to shoot with a bow and arrow. She became even more weirder to her family after she found a talent at throwing knives and stabbing with knives. Soon enough, her parents tried to kill her, but she wound up killing her mother and giving her father fatal injuries. She left on her on, then, since they didn't have a house and her father and siblings died in the destruction. Ara really didn't care what happened to them, though. She was left to survive on her own, and luckily she knew how to survive by herself.

An AK47, a sniper rifle, and a military crossbow that fires razor-sharp bolts.

Appearance:
Cole is slightly tall for his age, enough so that he gives off a slightly commanding aura. He is extremely thin, with no trace of fat anywhere on his body. You could literally count his ribs through his skin, and nearly every bone of his is visible from outside. No matter how much Cole eats, he never seems to put on much more weight or get any fatter. Believe me, he's tried. Cole has a slightly pale complexion that gets even paler when he's afraid. Because of Cole's thinness, his face appears slightly bony and prominent.

Cole has somewhat short dark brown hair. In the winter his hair appears black, although if you look closely you can see that it is still just an extremely dark brown. Cole's hair grows relatively fast in the front, so his eyes are normally covered a little by his hair. Cole does nothing to keep his hair out of his eyes, although as a small child he used to. Cole stopped once he realized how idiotic it looked to have his entire forehead exposed.

Cole has pure brown eyes that are several shades lighter than his hair. It's rumored that a single glare from Cole's eyes can quiet a whole room, although he tries his best to dispel these rumors. He's never said that it isn't true, though. Cole's eyes also almost radiate intelligence, although he isn't as smart as, say, a Processor. Just above average intelligence.

And now, onto Cole's clothing. He wears a plain black shirt and pants, with a black cape around his back. Cole has a leather belt as well, although its only purpose is to hold his weapons. He wears tinted contacts to hide his Seeker abilities.

Personality:
Cole has a more... interesting personality than most, as you'll see.
Cole considers himself a bit of a loner, although he has met plenty of people more introverted than himself. He prefers the company of a book or his laptop to the company of a large group of people, and sometimes gets pretty short-tempered when in the middle of a large crowd, so be careful if you see him in public. Cole also has a bit of a silver tongue, and can manipulate people with words. However, this silver tongue turns to lead when Cole is afraid and acid when he's angry, giving the impression of three different personalities.

First, there's cunning, manipulative Cole Jacobson, modest and slightly charming, as well as mysterious. He generally stays away from crowds and stays calm in even the most dangerous situations. He's a good leader and pretty strategic for someone of his age, and can inspire confidence in those around him.

Second, there's quiet, quick-to-flee Cole. He generally tries to stay clear of any awkward situation and diverts attention from himself in any way possible, whether it's changing the subject or rushing into a different room for a few minutes. Because of this, Cole is considered slightly shady, always avoiding conversations when possible. Even when he has to talk, Cole tends to leave the actual talking to someone else, although he listens attentively.

Finally, there's bold, quick-tempered Cole. He gets carried away in conversations, which generally makes chitchat deteriorate slowly into an argument. This personality slightly enjoys conflict, and will listen in and laugh at any argument. This version of Cole is the rarest, as he tries to keep out of arguments of any kind.

Cole is mortally afraid of heights, although sometimes this fear drives him to explore the highest areas possible. Contradictory, I know. He is emotional at times, and generally takes threats and insults very seriously.

Background:
Cole lived a relatively normal life for a mutant, until he was about eight, when his parents died and he was forced to fend for himself. Like most others, Cole has been living alone this whole time and wondering what went wrong that would leave him a life like this.

@Gray; your limited ability will be that you cannot stay locked on to Faders when they "fade"

Reason for Denial:*I would also like to remind all of you that this is post apocalypse, everything is destroyed...there are only wrecks of hospitals and rubble where police stations once stood. Their are no orphanages there is only destruction where everything once was. So please edit your backstories to accomidate for this.*

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE 2ND MORTAL CHARACTERS OR FIND FRIENDS INTERESTED IN BEING A MORTAL BECAUSE THE RP WILL NOT START UNTIL A "DECENT" AMOUNT OF MORTALS ARE PRESENT

Name: Iroshi Kira, but never calls himself that.

Nickname "Kyuuketsuki"

Age: 16.

Gender: Male

Ability: Processor-Hell's Healer. His Processor abilities are weaker than normal.

Weapon of Choice: His voice and brain, but uses daggers that he contaminates any way he can. His eyesight is not the best, so guns are not his first choice.

Appearance: Height is 5'4, has a very small, slight body. Has black hair and dark eyes. He always smiles calmly and soothingly. He is solitary by nature, so convincing him to help the other mutants might be difficult.

Personality: Iroshi deeply hates humans, and will kill them whenever he can. He is solitary by nature, so convincing him to help the other mutants might be difficult. He smiles most of the time, but is usually in anticipation of killing.

He will appear to his victims as a bringer of news, and will use his Processor abilities to figure out what will drive his victims into deepest despair, when they would be happy to die. Then he just convinces them that he can make them feel better, and uses his Hell's Healer powers to steal his willing victim's life force. He loves hospitals and other places where those who have little to live for are, such as slums.

Background: Iroshi hates humans because when he was 10, his parents helped and took care of a human who was hurt and starving.
After the human left, he came back with others and burned the house of Iroshi's family to the ground and tryed to kill them all. The humans had been bandits, and the man they helped had been scoping them out. Iroshi never knew. Iroshi was the only survivor, and has since sworn to kill every human in the world and see it repopulated with mutants.

Sexual Orientation: Straight, but will only be interested in female mutants that are extremely powerful, as he believes that through genetic selection he can create the perfect mutant. This might be a good way to get him to help the other mutants.

Denied...I am sorry but I cannot let you use one ability to get 2 others and just so you know, powers were dormant in parents (they didn't have abilities)
