Welcome to the beginning of the end, kids. If you aren't familiar with CF I suggest you at least skim the 'Basic Plot' section. If you're returning it's basically the same as it has ever been - but we're going back to Alveus for the final stand against the Adduco.

Basic Plot;
Catching Fireflies is set in a world that is not our own. In many ways it is different, in many ways it is the same. The world of the Fireflies is known more commonly as Alveus. The world of Alveus is inhabited by a small selection of people, each with their own talents, their own abilities. The world of Alveus is wrought by war.
Alveus is not split into sides. It is a free-for-all, and the victor will ultimately decide the fate of the world. Alveus is, however split into 'races' though races are not decided by ones looks but rather their skills or talents. These talents are not the mundane ones we possess though, the ones of our world. These talents are supernatural.
The Adduco thought that they'd driven the resistance out of Alveus when they began to take over control of the seas - they thought they'd have an easy job of it. Not so, it seems. The resistance is reforming on Alveus for one, final stand. But the Adduco aren't unprepared, with a weapon that seems to hold far more in the balance than anything had done before.
It's all to play for, in a sense.
Which side are you on?

A (Not Very) Brief History of the Current Alveus;
(As told by Lennox/Semper)
“A long time ago the word Adduco was merely used to refer to someone of importance, as opposed to our current ‘leaders’. I used to be one.”
“I was formerly the leader of the Adduco armies, back when the sole reason for us having the armies was to prevent the spread of the Plague - the disease that managed to wipe out most of the adults and mutate most of the children – that’s why it’s so rare to see adults round here, and why so many of us have unusual abilities. The exact reasons why it just gave the children 'powers' and killed the adults I'm not sure - their DNA was probably easier to manipulate or something - but any adults that caught the Plague died."
"After a while the disease - virus, whatever, mutated so that it would kill off most everyone rather than give them powers, or, in rare cases, give them the power to kill or mutate things. That’s how those who have the Plague currently developed their abilities, and why there are still a few Mortals remaining. You following?"
"Except when the virus, first began it merely gave one the powers of a Nexi - to destroy things, in a basic sense, rather than any of the more diverse powers we have now. When the disease started to become deadly to everyone, not just the adults, the Plague victims who survived gained the power to kill off anything that approached them, or mutate wildlife and such into monsters or zombies or whatever, really."
"We, the original Adduco, worked well at containing the disease for a short while, before it had mutated. Back then it was mostly harmless, except towards adults. When it mutated...things got harder. We had to work to try and stop the spread - and we failed. That's why there aren't so many people around anymore. Most of them died."
"Some of us escaped, the lucky ones. We were on the brink of utter annihilation. And then one of our scientists managed to alter the disease so that it no longer killed people. It would still give them powers and such, but they would be helpful rather than dangerous - those who were injected with the disease became Runners."
“Except for us, the original Adduco. We’d spent so long near the Plague members, and developing failed vaccines, that some of the chemicals in the air from where we were working altered the vaccine when we took it. Our powers were...different.”
"Nonetheless we thought that if we vaccinated everyone we'd all be safe, and the Plague would just stop. Turned out the 'cure' only worked on certain people."
"Those that the cure didn't work on...well. They died."
"Obviously we stopped mass-producing the vaccine, after the deaths, but it began to spread nearly as badly as the Plague itself. It had become as much of a virus as the Plague itself. We were worried when we heard the news - new Runners being created when they hadn't even been given the vaccine."
"We thought we'd hear of more deaths because of our vaccine spreading. We didn't."
"When the cure was manually given to people who weren't 'right' for it they'd die, but when it spread naturally - that's where people's powers came from. Elementals, Inanis, nearly all of the other 'races' were formed when the cure came into contact with someone who couldn't take it 'normally'."
"Except for the Devia. The Devia - those who can control demons and the darkness and who knows what else - they were formed when someone with the Plague was injected manually. We prefer not to talk about them."
"But that's irrelevant. Because most of those carrying the Plague were euthanized.”
"People were permanently traumatized by what they'd been through, though. Most of them, at least. The only way we could think to help them was to erase their memories of what had happened, replace them with new ones. We managed to completely eradicate people's memories, on an international scale."
"Ever wonder why you don't see many adults around? They're all dead. But no-one remembers how they died, oh no. We replaced their memories with memories of a war - taught their minds to accept that that's why hardly anyone is still alive. That the original Adduco were fighting them, that they were the ones who had killed everyone. The Adduco became the bad guys."
“It was not our intention, but that’s how it worked out.”
"I stepped down from my place, hid from those who would kill me for being an 'Adduco’."
"All of the original Adduco fled to other islands, hoping that our work would be enough to restore a sort-of-peace. It would have done, but...our work was flawed. People hated the Adduco so much that they felt the blame had to be forced onto someone – so they forced it onto the one race most often known for their cruelty – those formerly known as Subtyles had become the Adduco that the blame was to be forced onto."
“Those who worked with technology were now the enemy.”
"There were also those whose minds refused to accept the ideas and memories we had implanted - Creationists, mostly, but others too. They sought to rid the world of those who had polluted their minds and forced this loss of sanity - by killing off everyone."
"These people are the current leaders of Alveus, with the Adduco as their armies – the hatred other feel for them is reason enough for them to want to kill everyone too."
“We were aware we could not let those who retained their memories survive, and so we plotted to kill them off in one, quick blow.”
"They knew what we were planning, but there weren’t enough of them to pose the same threat to us as we did to them.”
"They had to corrupt people's minds with thoughts of greed and wealth to lure them to their side. They had to find a way to prevent us from stopping them. So they created the storms. They were too late to prevent everyone from leaving, too slow to stop all of us from returning to the main land. But they did enough."
“Those of us who had fled the islands to get away from the hatred couldn’t get back into Alveus. The seas were too rough to even get close to the mainland.”
"And now they don't need the storms anymore. Because they outnumber us a hundred to one."

*Runners, Fireflies, Anima, Adduco (original) and Fire Elementals are not for creation unless they are previous cast members or an RP'er controlling one of the characters in a previous CF RP does not return.
The Inanis are those who have experienced such terror, such anguish in their lives that they have developed an almost eerie lack of emotions. They feel no sadness or happiness or anger. They merely seem to exist. That is not the case however. The Inanis have merely developed such masks that no-one can see through them. They seem emotionless. The Inanis' talents are those to do with the mind. Some can see into your very soul, some can wreak your mind with terror such like you have never known.
Gifted;
More rare, though, are the Gifted. They are the ones who ignore it. They live in a world of peaceful contentment, free from the horror around them. Their powers are that of illusion, of creating monstrous creatures that could destroy everything, but then that disappear at the blink of an eye. They can trick and hypnotise like the Inanis, but they cannot twist others minds.
Devia;
The Devia are more common but harder to find. They live alone, in the ruined houses left behind by the war. These humans can summon unspeakable demons from the depths of hell, hide in shadows and just disappear. They are the darkness that curls through your mind, slinking in the shadows. They can be innately powerful.
Fireflies; [LIMITED CREATION*]
The Fireflies are the most curious and simultaneously famous group, though not the rarest. The Fireflies are those who just stick through it, who keep pushing through with a smile no matter the cost. They never give up. They wield the arcane; they can create glorious swords of pure magic, can teleport vast distances like the Runners and hover as though flying. They are nigh a myth.
Anima; [LIMITED CREATION*]
The Anima are those who fight with nature, who wish to breathe new life into the world. They fight with animals, with plants long forgotten. They are almost as rare as the Fireflies, and a select few have the power to shapeshift into the most majestic beasts.
Runners; [LIMITED CREATION*]
The rarest group are the Runners. They are never seen. They are those that try to flee the horror of the war, try to escape the cruelty and pain. They are faster than possible, they can teleport, walk through shadows. They are the perfect assassins, stealthier then one would believe possible. They are considered the free ones, the ones that can exist in their own worlds away from the madness. And they can, for a little while.
Adduco (current);
The Adduco are those that wish for war. They can craft the most awesome technology out of the tiniest piece of metal, capable of inventing and creating the most horrific war machines, possible of destroying nearly everything, and a select few can control the power of fire. They are the ones whose powers can vary the most.
Mortals;
There are those who have not yet discovered their powers - mere Mortals. Maybe they have not developed precise feelings yet, maybe they just don't particulrly have opinions or maybe they're just late bloomers, but such Mortals are far and few. There are also those who don't fit in to any particular group - the Others - once again rare. They may fit in perfectly to the normal guidelines for a certain species but possess completely different powers or have completely different opinions from anyone else and possess completely different powers or have the same powers as one species and a completely different personality, but, like Mortals, Other are almost impossibly rare.
Xeno;
There are the Xeno, also known as Creationists - an incredibly rare race with the ability to create things out of thin air. While they may not be able to keep such things in solid form for very long they can also create sensations or feeling in people for the same amount of time. Despite the fact that such a power seems nice and kind and such the only users ate those who have completely lost their minds. Ah. In case anyone is wondering Cinna is actually half Xeno and half Gifted. But he's probably better considered an Other.
Nexi;
Nexi are exactly the opposite. They are able to tear things from existence - permanently if they put enough effort in, but there's often vast consequences for them when that happens. They are those who would destroy the world if only they could end the war. They are so desperate to end it that they would sooner destroy everything first than continue with the fighting. While they are generally rather kind people the Nexi are particularly emotional.
Presul;
The Presul can manipulate time. They are those who dwell on the past or dream of the future, though they can normally only go back in tome or forward - not both. Some can even pause speed up or slow down time. They are incredibly powerful but often experience great sadness at seemingly random moments, and are often dreamy or lost in thought.
Plague;
The Plague are a unique group in that their abilities slowly kill everything around them. Wherever they walk things die, plants curl in on themselves and they create horrible, horrible creatures from whatever decaying remains are left. There isn't really a set personality for Plague victims - it seems more of a disease than a power, and as such anyone can be cursed with such a power. They are a mostly unknown species and little, if any information about them has been collected.
Agon;
The Agon are those who have an unnatural skill in combat. The power can manifest in most everyone, and is fairly common. There aren't really any strict guidelines as to what Agon can and can't do.
Rei;
Rei are those who can manipulate their bodies - they can transform their entire being into liquid, make themselves so light they can float, sharpen their nails so they resemble knives...they have complete control over every aspect of themselves. It often manifests in those who have high self-esteem.
Elementals; [LIMITED CREATION*]
Then there are the elementals. Fire, earth, wind and water. Each elemental can only control one element, but they can use it brilliantly. It is more often seen in those who dislike company. And stuff.
Prodigies;
There are the Prodigies; those who have a natural talent in the arts or sciences or any such field of work, more so then any natural prodigy could ever hope to be. They are those who study hard and work nonstop. They have great ambition.
Adduco (original); [LIMITED CREATION*]
And then there are the original Adduco. Not the war-mongers, but the very glue that holds together the Resistance - but they are also the very ones who brought the horror of the Adduco reign, and the manifestation of our powers to us. There are no specifics as to what powers they control, but their's are far more advanced than any other 'race', no matter what it is they do. They have nearly all been moved to seperate continents than Alveus, however, due to the threat they pose to the current Adduco leaders.
*Runners, Fireflies, Anima, Adduco (original) and Fire Elementals are not for creation unless they are previous cast members or an RP'er controlling one of the characters in a previous CF RP does not return.
---
Role-playing Mechanics;
You normally won't have time to wash, to think, to do anything unless you have power enough to frighten potential attackers away from yourself in Alveus. It is modern, apocalyptic, yes, but modern. Most buildings are torn apart, destroyed by the war. Most, if not all of the shops have been looted. You won't find anything unless you loot someone's dead body.
Powers happen at random - normally triggered by traumatic or particularly emotional events. It is entirely possible to have none, but considering how long the war has been going on now it is incredibly unlikely. Cars exist but most have been ruined. People normally get around by free-running across roofs, through streets or by using your powers.
Probably the only proper 'city' is run by a group of Adduco, fortified by an inane amount of steel and surrounded by technology capable of bringing down even the toughest of fighters. If you are a like-minded person it is fairly easy to make a living there, whether through merchanting or offering yourself out to fight or any number of different occupations. Of course if you slip up just once - break just one rule - you're dead. The city is the only place with shops, and even then they're more like stalls, but most of the buildings have been restored by the Adduco. You don't have to be an Adduco to live there; it's just a ton easier. Anyone else and you'd actually have to prove that you're on their side.
There are other, smaller 'towns' - no where near as technologically advanced but fairly large. They don't have much order but most have a small body of the more intelligent of the survivors who run most things. They normally only accept people of their own 'species', but they're pretty open to new ideas, most of the time.
The Fireflies or Runners, however, either live alone in the ruins of houses or shops or anything, really, or intermingle with a different species’ town. There aren't enough of them to from a town together, and it's unlikely they'll ever meet anyone of the same species.
Powers are purely emotional - it is entirely possible to have a Firefly born to two Adduco. That being said it is likely that the child would've been influenced by their parents, so it's more likely they'll have the same powers.
It is possible but very rare that someone's powers can change. This is only through something that affects their outlook/ emotions so much that their old feelings have been completely torn from them. They will gain new powers, and their old ones will be significantly weaker - if they used to be able to control the shadows the shadows will merely be drawn to them slightly after the change.

Rules;
(i)
Most adults are already dead; an unknown disease has wracked Alveus - you'd be incredibly lucky to survive until 21. If you want to be older you must request so specifically.
(ii)
No Godmodding/ Bunnying/ Mary-Sues/ Rule-Breaking.
(iii)
I retain the right to deny any/all applications that I feel are not up to standard.
(iv)
No 'species' other than those already listed.

Example Sign-Ups;
Tai Evans
Name;
Tai Evans
Age;
19 (a year older, now)
Gender;
Female
Species/Side;
Formerly an Inani, now an Adduco. One of the Resistance leaders.
Power/s;
Used to possess the powers of hypnosis and mind reading, however she can now do little, if any, of either. She used to merely be able to make any piece of machinery work, despite not normally know anything about the technology behind it, but she can now animate metal and flawlessly take control over machinery, able to bend and control it by mere touch. She can also utilise the electric currents running through certain kinds of technology to shoot bolts of sheer electricity.
Personality;
Tai always used to keep up a cool facade - not unfriendly but not welcoming. She had been a partial Other - warmer than most Inanis, showing more emotions, but not different to the extent she could have been considered a full-blown Other. She was unnervingly calm in the worst of situations, but tended to be slightly reckless. She was unafraid of death, which was probably one of her most important assets. While she might not have been loving or kind towards you if you were a friend she would protect you 'till the end - too bad her loyalty was often misplaced. On occasion she was just happy-go-lucky to the point it wasn't even funny though. It depended, really. After CF Part I she mellowed out a bit, and was slightly more welcoming.
Now, after CFII, the changes have become even more obvious. Her recklessness now shines through, pushed by an almost worrying amount of sheer energy. She has dropped the emotionless facade, and is now probably one of the most emotive people you could hope to meet. She is friendly and extroverted, but holds incredibly steadfast grudges. While it is hard to get her to remain serious for more than a few minutes at a time it can happen - and when it does it is almost scary how calm she is. Aside from those rare occasions, though, Tai is always jovial and bright, but quick to react. She is melodramatic and makes assumptions far too easily, and tends to act on these presumptions more than actual facts.
Appearance;
Black hair, sunken eyes, bags. Like most people in Alveus she's a mess. Her hair is short, choppy. Shoulder-length, usually matted with dirt. She appears to never blink, her grey eyes always wide, unmoving. She wears a casual get-up; jeans, a t-shirt and trainers, but her belt is where it's at. Her belt is full of weapons. Grenades, knives, daggers, pistols - it's insane what she can cram in there. Not a good idea to try to fight her unarmed. She also wears a pair of goggles round her neck, for when she has to traverse the more sandy areas and doesn't want said sand in her eyes. Or, at least, this was how she used to look.
Now Tai is a fair sight cleaner, and with bright peacock blue hair. Oh the wonders of dyeing. She also insists on wearing bright blue contacts, making her eyes seem a fair bit larger than they ever used to. She is still pale, and slightly lanky looking, but the bags that used to be a constant reminder of the long nights spent forming plans for the resistance have seemingly disappeared. She still wears jeans and a t-shirt, sure, but they're a lot more hygienic and a lot cleaner than they used to be. Her belt hasn't changed either, still full to the brim with weaponry and various fire-arms, but now she literally cannot leave her house without her skateboard. Her magical flying skateboard (that's not actually magical - more like advanced Adduco tech). And her goggles, still. Just in case.
History;
She was fine, when the war began. Sure her parents were dead but she was just fine, looking after her younger sister. Until a group of raiders showed up, and in a brutal fight massacared the three year old girl and left her, a 17 year old girl with no powers, to fend for herself, having escaped as they destroyed everything, having already done away with her sister. Her thirst for revenge is horrific.
She joined the Resistance the instant they allowed her in, rising through the ranks at a worrying speed. She headed various publicity stunts, along with more...dangerous displays of rebellion. Currently she's working alongside Gary, Jakku, Kiba, James and whoever else they've picked up along the way. Well, sort of; right now shes refusing to speak to them, but hey, what can you do?
Skills;
Pistol mastery, speed, reconnaisance. Stealthy, brilliant with technology.
Sexuality;
Straight
Theme Song;
9 Shades of Red - Hedley
Profession;
Recon/Scout/Spy for the rebels. Part-time merchant, if she finds any loot on her missions.
Feelings about the War;
She hates it, so much. It killed her baby sister, after all. She wants to destroy the Devia most of all, though.
Weapons;
Twin daggers, Pistol [advanced model - devised by an Adduco -- even she doesn't know all of it's special features] and whatever's on her belt at the time.
Flaws;
Reckless, trusts too easily, stubborn, prejudiced. Sometimes using her powers can make her dizzy or ill, and utilising electric currents can sometimes backfire on her.

Lennox 'Semper' Blackwell
Name;
Lennox ‘Semper’ Blackwell - normally referred to as Semper so that people don't recognise him.
Age;
Who knows? He often takes the form of a 18 year old, but this is likely just to appear weak and innocent, so he's underestimated. (He is actually 18, just fyi).
Gender;
Male
Species/Side;
Lennox is an Other with the ability to absorb the powers of those he's killed. With each kill he loses less and less of his humanity, along with other, more dangerous side-affects. He's incredibly powerful. Works alongside the original Adduco - not the leaders of Alveus. Former leader of the Adduco armies, now the most wanted in all of Alveus.
Power/s;
The ability to absorb the powers of those he's (personally) killed - and he gets to keep them. Thus far it has been revealed he can control ice, change his appearance, create forecfields, become invisible and scan minds. Who knows what else he can do? (...not much).
Personality;
Lennox was brought up knowing that everyone could become corrupt given the right incentive, and that people were made to be manipulated.
Lennox is cunning and quick-witted, having realised at a young age that if he wasn't exactly athletic he better become intelligent, lest he be trodden on.
He comes off as cold, and quite often cruel to people, mocking them for no apparent reason. His parents taught him how to convince people to do as he said, a skill that, when coupled with his surprising intellect, made him a force to be reckoned with.
Lennox doesn't really think of others as sentient beings - just toys - and treats them as such. He doesn't mind if people get hurt by his actions, so long as it means he can have his way.
He is incredibly good at strategising, but rather stubborn, and insistent upon being overly cautious, refusing to act recklessly even if he is in grave danger.
He doesn't trust people full stop, and people often dislike him for the way he ignores most everyone. He can be kind, when he has developed enough of a relationship with someone, but in his eyes they will never be his 'friends' - the best you can get with Lennox is to become an 'ally'.
He has a slight problem with OCD when symmetrical things are involved - he dislikes asymmetric things and will often waste time trying to make them perfectly symmetrical, and occasionally downright refuses to do things if it would result in the destruction of something perfectly symmetrical.
He is a quick-thinker, but most everything he does relies on logic or fact. While he can be imaginative when forced he is not naturally creative, and it can be difficult to force him to think 'outside the box' if it seems illogial to.
He's fast at nearly everything - quick on his feet, quick witted and quick to stereotype and make decisions about people. Most everything he feels about others is based on his first impressions of them as a person, and it's nigh impossible to change his views after he has decided them.
He does not lose his temper easily, one should be pleased to note, and has a knack for staying calm in the most dangerous of situations. That being says he has a habit of immediately resorting to violence - he feels that the best way to get rid of a threat is to completely eradicate it.
He often volunteers to use his own gun in such instances.
Lennox is also untrustworthy. While he is an incredibly gifted actor he is completely disloyal, and not at all adverse to stabbing people in the back if they give him reason to.
He's also conceited - arrogant and full of himself. It makes him foolish - he readily believes that his ideas are the best, the most suitable, no matter the circumstances.
He's completely self-reliant, independent to a fault. He has nothing to fall back on if everything goes wrong, but he somehow manages to convince himself he doesn't need others.
He's sure he'll be perfectly fine on his own.
He is darkly cynical, and almost everything he says is followed by a sarcastic remark or degrading insult.
That being said he more often than not pretends to be incredibly kind so he can manipulate people later down the road.
Appearance;
Lennox is about 6 foot two, and rather pale-skinned. He's rather thin and quite frankly frail, but he's incredibly agile even if he isn't gifted with incredible strength. Lennox has a lithe figure, and his bones are rather prominent - mostly his cheekbones - and it gives him an almost aristocratic appearance.
His hair is a light blonde colour that's just a bit shorter than shoulder-length, and fairly neat, although it has a habit of becoming quite ruffled when he has to move quickly or he becomes stressed. He doesn't have a visible fringe, though his hair doesn't fall in his eyes or some other such nonsense.
Said eyes are a cool grey, and are probably his most memorable feature. They're fairly large, but he often prefers to keep them lidded so as not to draw unwanted attention to himself.
His body is all sharp edges - he doesn't have any visible fat nor muscles. If one were to draw him it's unlikely there'd be any curved lines used whatsoever. It reflects his personality, to an extent.
Lennnox was brought up with a silver spoon in his mouth, and his clothes reflect that brilliantly. He wears a plain white Tuxedo, with a pale green shirt underneath. He uses a plain black belt to secure his trousers (plain white, again), and wears a pair of formal black shoes, more suited for a wedding than anything else.
He also wears a matching green tie, but it's not unusual for him to end up taking it off because it irritates him so.
He literally cannot stoop - his head is always held high, and he looks down on people no matter who they are. His back is always straight, and his posture always has to be perfect.
His mouth is nearly always curved down slightly in a grimace, a flat line on his face or a slight smirk - Lennox doesn't show emotions easily, and even when he does they're still hard to distinguish.
He is a rather good actor, after all. He knows how to wear a mask and act the part.
Whenever he walks each step seems to be precise, each of his actions planned before time. Every time his feet hit the floor there will be a pronounced click as his (rather posh) shoes fall against the ground below him.
He has a penchant for the dramatics.
As of CFII he has become a slight bit more trusting - not much else has changed.

You're Gonna' Go Far Kid - The Offspring
Profession;
Courier, amongst other things.
Feelings about the War;

Other;
He can play the violin.

Atrox Carmen
Name;
Atrox Carmen
Age;
16
Species/Side;
Runner, supposedly works for the Resistance, though Tai insists she doesn't.
Power/s;
Shadow manipulation, portal creation, teleportation.
Personality;
Hasty, rash, nervous. She jumps at her own shadow, and everything is a threat to her. Her paranoia is obvious in her every movement. She's incredibly observant though, and her skills in assassination are almost unparalleled. Well, they would be if she didn't freak out at the slightest movement and abandon her assignment without fail.
That's how she used to be, at least. Nowadays she's sarcastic and cynical and downright cruel at times. Still wary but less so - braver, less likely to flee. More confident in her own abilities.
Appearance;
Tall, lithe, lanky. Thin to such an extent it's almost considered anorexic. Her hair is long, a light-brown/blonde-y colour matted with dirt and grime and mud. Her glasses are broken, completely smashed but for some reason she still wears them. Skinny jeans, a torn-up scarf, a t-shirt and a denim jacket. A pair of trainers. That's it. She doesn't smell, which is surprising considering she never gets the chance to wash. Caked in dirt all over, normally, and covered in cuts and grazes, her hair standing on end, her eyes wide - she's a mess.
Nowadays, though, she tends to look a bit more presentable - she's not as thin anymore, and her hair is normally brushed through, and fairly free of grime. She has a new pair of glasses, and wears a less...ruined scarf. She's scarred but not overly so, and looks almost...nice.
Skills;
Climbing, hiding, assassination, stealth, observant, speed, cunning and has superior reflexes and agility.
Sexuality;
Straight
Theme Song;
Shadow of the Day - Linkin Park
Profession;
Assassin or courier.
Feelings about the War;
She doesn't want it. For God's sake she never asked for it - the war was thrust upon her, just like it was everyone else. She hates it and would do anything to stop it but she has neither the courage nor the whole-heartedness to undertake such a task. Or...so it seems.
Weapons;
Knives, pistol.
Flaws;
Paranoid, untrusting, reckless, slight OCD. Somewhat irritates people.

Cinna Oxx
Name;
Cinna Oxx
Age;
17
Species;
Xeno (Creationist), partial Gifted.
Power/s;
Formerly a master of illusions, to such an extent that he literally warped reality around him, crafting nightmarish creatures and scenarios he now possesses the ability to bring these creations to life, even if they do only stay in existence for a short time.
Personality;
I'm sure his personality fit the guidelines of the 'Gifted' when he first discovered his powers. He rapidly lost control though, and now he's... well he's a monster. Insane yet cunning, manipulative, blunt, unmerciful, both a sadist and a masochist, cold, mean, sarcastic, pessimistic and cynical. He's a mess. A complete and utter mess. But somehow he hasn't become an Other.
Well, okay, he was. Now he's less...messed up in the head, but if anything more sadistic - and what he wants most of all is Semper - dead. He’s not stealthy though, in the least, what with the constant muttering and the insane sense of bravery he possesses. He’s brash and reckless and throws caution to the wind all too quickly.
Appearance;
He's an albino, with pure white hair that forms soft triangular 'spikes' that are really not pointy enough to be called that. Well, it used to be pure white hair. Now it’s intermixed with so much mud and dirt and grime that it’s almost brown in colour. His eyes are large and red, boodshot and permanently bewlidered, or so it seems. He's dishevelled and dirty, grazes and scars crusted over and hair caked in mud. He is as mad as he appears.
Clothing-wise he normally dons whatever he can find – there’s nothing in particular he’ll wear over something else. Except when there is.
History;
Brought up by Mortals he didn't know what to expect when he got his powers, immediately after the simultaneous deaths of both his parents. They destroyed him. They broke him and his spirit until he was a mere shell of his former self. And then he went kind of mental and became to leader of the Adduco.
Skills;
Illusions, trickery, agility. Commanding large forces.
Sexuality;
Asexual
Theme song;
Animal – Neon Trees
Profession;
Leader of the Adduco.

Power/s;
Formerly a master of illusions, to such an extent that he literally warped reality around him, crafting nightmarish creatures and scenarios he now possesses the ability to bring these creations to life, even if they do only stay in existence for a short time.
Personality;
Appearance;
History;
Brought up by Mortals he didn't know what to expect when he got his powers, immediately after the simultaneous deaths of both his parents. They destroyed him. They broke him and his spirit until he was a mere shell of his former self. And then he went kind of mental and became to leader of the Adduco.

Lennox 'Semper' Blackwell
Cinna Oxx
Tai Evans
Atrox Carmen
Name;
Lennox ‘Semper’ Blackwell - normally referred to as Semper so that people don't recognise him.
Age;
Who knows? He often takes the form of a 18 year old, but this is likely just to appear weak and innocent, so he's underestimated. (He is actually 18, just fyi).
Gender;
Male
Species/Side;
Power/s;
The ability to absorb the powers of those he's (personally) killed - and he gets to keep them. Thus far it has been revealed he can control ice, change his appearance, create forecfields, become invisible and scan minds. Who knows what else he can do? (...not much).
Personality;
Appearance;

Other;
He can play the violin.

Tai Evans
Name;
Tai Evans
Age;
19 (a year older, now)
Gender;
Female
Species/Side;
Formerly an Inani, now an Adduco. One of the Resistance leaders.
Power/s;
Personality;
Appearance;
History;
Skills;
Pistol mastery, speed, reconnaisance. Stealthy, brilliant with technology.
Sexuality;
Straight
Theme Song;
9 Shades of Red - Hedley
Profession;
Recon/Scout/Spy for the rebels. Part-time merchant, if she finds any loot on her missions.
Feelings about the War;
She hates it, so much. It killed her baby sister, after all. She wants to destroy the Devia most of all, though.
Weapons;
Twin daggers, Pistol [advanced model - devised by an Adduco -- even she doesn't know all of it's special features] and whatever's on her belt at the time.
Flaws;
Reckless, trusts too easily, stubborn, prejudiced. Sometimes using her powers can make her dizzy or ill, and utilising electric currents can sometimes backfire on her.

Atrox Carmen
Name;
Atrox Carmen
Age;

Species/Side;
Runner, supposedly works for the Resistance, though Tai insists she doesn't.
Power/s;
Shadow manipulation, portal creation, teleportation.
Personality;
Appearance;
Skills;
Climbing, hiding, assassination, stealth, observant, speed, cunning and has superior reflexes and agility.
Sexuality;
Straight
Theme Song;
Shadow of the Day - Linkin Park
Profession;
Assassin or courier.
Feelings about the War;
She doesn't want it. For God's sake she never asked for it - the war was thrust upon her, just like it was everyone else. She hates it and would do anything to stop it but she has neither the courage nor the whole-heartedness to undertake such a task. Or...so it seems.
Weapons;
Knives, pistol.
Flaws;
Paranoid, untrusting, reckless, slight OCD. Somewhat irritates people.
Atrox Carmen
Age;
16
Species/Side;
Runner, supposedly works for the Resistance, though Tai insists she doesn't.
Power/s;
Shadow manipulation, portal creation, teleportation.
Personality;
Appearance;

Cole Drakkio
Name;
"A name is the very essence of someone's identity."
Cole Drakkio
Age;
"Age makes no difference, in the great scheme of life."
17
Species/Side;
"Sometimes, the average contain more power than one could ever imagine."
Mortal/Resistance
Power/s;
"My gift, put simply, is the power of mortality."
He isn't gifted with any supernatural powers, but is very intelligent and strategic.
Personality;
"One's intelligence and traits determine everything important in life."
Cole has a more... interesting personality than most, as you'll see.
Cole considers himself a bit of a loner, although he has met plenty of people more introverted than himself. He prefers the company of a book or his laptop to the company of a large group of people, and sometimes gets pretty short-tempered when in the middle of a large crowd, so be careful if you see him in public. Cole also has a bit of a silver tongue, and can manipulate people with words. However, this silver tongue turns to lead when Cole is afraid and acid when he's angry, giving the impression of three different personalities.
First, there's cunning, manipulative Cole Jacobson, modest and slightly charming, as well as mysterious. He generally stays away from crowds and stays calm in even the most dangerous situations. He's a good leader and pretty strategic for someone of his age, and can inspire confidence in those around him.
Second, there's quiet, quick-to-flee Cole. He generally tries to stay clear of any awkward situation and diverts attention from himself in any way possible, whether it's changing the subject or rushing into a different room for a few minutes. Because of this, Cole is considered slightly shady, always avoiding conversations when possible. Even when he has to talk, Cole tends to leave the actual talking to someone else, although he listens attentively.
Finally, there's bold, quick-tempered Cole. He gets carried away in conversations, which generally makes chitchat deteriorate slowly into an argument. This personality slightly enjoys conflict, and will listen in and laugh softly at any argument. This version of Cole is the rarest, as he tries to keep out of arguments of any kind.
Cole is mortally afraid of heights, although sometimes this fear drives him to explore the highest areas possible. Contradictory, I know. He is very noble, and will do anything to resolve most fights quickly.
Appearance;
"One's true strength lies in their mind, not their physical attributes."
Cole is slightly tall for his age, enough so that he gives off a slightly commanding aura. He is extremely thin, with no trace of fat anywhere on his body. You could literally count his ribs through his skin, and nearly every bone of his is visible from outside. No matter how much Cole eats, he never seems to put on much more weight or get any fatter. Believe me, he's tried. Cole has a slightly pale complexion that gets even paler when he's afraid. Because of Cole's thinness, his face appears slightly bony and prominent.
Cole has somewhat short dark brown hair. In the winter his hair appears black, although if you look closely you can see that it is still just an extremely dark brown. Cole's hair grows relatively fast in the front, so his eyes are normally covered a little by his hair. Cole does nothing to keep his hair out of his eyes, although as a small child he used to. Cole stopped once he realized how idiotic it looked to have his entire forehead exposed.
Cole has pure brown eyes that are several shades lighter than his hair. It's rumored that a single glare from Cole's eyes can quiet a whole room, although he tries his best to dispel these rumors. He's never said that it isn't true, though. Cole's eyes also almost radiate intelligence, and no one could ever guess how short-sighted he is. Cole normally wears glasses, although from time to time you might see him wearing contacts or neither.
As for clothing, Cole wears jeans and a black shirt, as well as a leather jacket and belt. A leather sash-like strap holds his weapons in place.
History;
"One's history makes no difference when compared with the present and future."
Cole, unlike almost every being in Alveus, was born immune to every version of the Plague. Therefore, he never inherited any sort of power, and remained entirely mortal throughout his entire life.
However, this doesn't mean that Cole was uninvolved in the war. For years he worked for the Resistance, in a sealed bunker, by hacking Adduco websites and disrupting their communications. However, after a while he was tracked to his bunker and forced out into the world, and began being more open in his resistance. Thus, Cole was forced away from his home by the Storm, and was one of the first to prepare to re-enter Alveus once it ended.
Of course, the worst is soon to come.
Skills;
"One's talents are meant to be used in any way possible. Of course, sometimes those ways aren't entirely beneficial."
Computer hacking and using technology in general.
Sexuality;
"And why do you wish to know?"
Straight
Theme Song;

Profession;
"A profession, like a personality, can influence your life forever."
Resistance Hacker
Feelings about the War;
"This war, put simply, is a rather necessary waste of time."
Weapons;

Along with his hi-tech hacking equipment, Cole wears two metal gauntlets that fire bullets from the palm; the left a sniper rifle, the right a machine gun.
Flaws;
"One's flaws determine their true strengths, and vice-versa."
Cole's physical strength and hand-to-hand combat abilities, put simply, are pretty far below average.

Gary Grey
Name;
Gary Grey
Age;
Unknown
Species/Side;
Presul
Power/s;
Gary can manipulate the portals between space and time, and using these powers, teleport anywhere he has previously visited whilst being able to go forwards and back in time as well. This power however, immensely drains him, and Gary tries to rely on his combat skills instead, as his Presul power isn't always reliable and messes with the laws of physics and time.
Personality;
Gary used to have a rather cocky nature and used to boast of his abilities and put others beneath him. However, after experiencing the wrath of the Adduco first hand in Catching Fireflies II, he has now put his focus on bringing down the Adduco Empire along with his fellow fugitive friends.
Appearance;
Gary prizes himself upon wearing fine material and very rich fabrics to the point that at one time he wore a full white tuxedo and a top hat. However due to the recent focus upon the war with the Adduco, he has now taken to wearing his old white trench coat, underneath being his fraying tuxedo, whilst on his head is the set of goggles, which can magnify his surroundings tenfold, a gift from the Adduco whom he used to collaborate with. Gary's facial features are charming and pronounced. His cheekbones are high and his eyes are a deep maroon colour. His dark brown hair, which used to be short, is now shoulder length.
History;
Hardly anything is known about Gary's past life, as he jumps so often in and out of the time vortex, living in almost separate realities to his last. However, his recent known history is that he once worked with the Adduco as a business man, making war machines and transporting goods, but now is a rogue fugitive, working against the evil system which is the Adduco empire.
Skills;
Gary is gifted with being an incredibly good-shot with a pistol and has a brief but useful experience with other weaponry.
Sexuality;

However, after an assassin was sent to kill him, he retired from his old profession in an attempt to stop the killer. Gary now feels that the only way to stop the assassin is to stop the Adduco from winning the waging war between them and the rest of Alveus.
Weapons;
Gary prizes his special Adduco made pistol, with powerful modifications and excellent sight. He also has a knife down his belt.
Flaws;
Gary can be bad at observation and he can oversee certain flaws in a plan.

Benito 'Zaar' Sudario
Josef Kaiser
Name;
"Don't bother remembering my name. It won't be of much use without a head to remember it with."
Benito Sudario, but he goes by Zaar for reasons unknown.
Age;
"The longer you live, the longer you get to experience what life has to offer. Or, in my case, the longer I get to kill people. Same thing, really."
19
Species;
"You may call me diseased. I call myself adapted."
Rei/Plague
Sexuality;
"Love is for fools."
Asexual
Profession;
"I have no one to serve but my own."
None, really.
Appearance;
"I honestly couldn't care less about my appearance. Leave that to the rest of society and their pitiful affairs."
Due to having the Plague, his appearance is very, very deformed. He has skin of a ghastly dark purple. His hair is gone. And his eyes are just empty sockets. He wears a set of pitch-black robes, with pants and boots of the same color. However, one of his more noticeable features is his right hand, which is larger than any normal hand, and bears more resemblances to a very large claw.
Personality;
"At least I admit that I'm a cruel, sadistic, and evil person. What's your excuse?"
If having the first name of an Italian dictator wasn't a good enough tip, then I'll go right ahead and say it. This guy is evil to the core. His sadism comes in two flavors. Most of the time, he's charismatic, graceful, and quite intelligent. Even though those previous traits don't seem evil, when combined with his minor psychosis and sadism, the end result is a cunning, manipulative criminal who has a particular fondness for utilizing sharp, pointy objects. And on top of that, he's quite misanthropic, takes up killing random passerby as a hobby, and has a superiority complex like you couldn't imagine.
But then there's the side of him that shows when you manage to tick him off. You do not want to be near this guy when that happens. His insanity runs front and center, and he gets a lot more blunt about his tactics. But this definitely doesn't mean he becomes any less deadly. Matter of fact, it's entirely possible under certain circumstances for him to be even more deadly.
Powers;
"So many killing methods, so little time..."
Due to being a Rei, he has a choice few abilities related to shapeshifting. He's able to form dark purple scales as an armor. His malformed right hand is able to morph into a variety of different forms, including a bladed form, a blunt mace-like shape, and a collection of vine-like protrusions. Due to being afflicted with the plague, almost everything he comes into contact with withers and dies. Because of this, getting a physical injury from this guy can be ten kinds of lethal.
History;
"History is history. What I focus on is the present."
Zaar had mainly grown up on the streets. No one knows why, and he refuses to tell anyone. However, around the age of 13, he had an encounter with a small squad of Adduco. They were publicly killing anyone who attempted to oppose their rule. Zaar found entertainment in watching these executions, but he started to get the feeling that he could show them up. That he was superior to those mindless buffoons.
And he did. Well, he tried to. In an act fueled by hubris, he approached the group and challenged them to a battle. But, he failed to realize that they were entirely capable of killing him. And in the disastrous battle that followed, they almost did. Instead, they decided to taunt him. Which was just as, if not more of a stupid mistake. The humility made him snap. Right then and there, his hands seemed to morph into claws, and he began tearing the Adduco into shreds. Driven by nothing but pure, unadulterated rage, he was able to slay the small group.
Soon afterward, he started to show a more aggressive nature. He started to kill more and more people, purely to show that he was superior, as well as for the sadistic thrill. But he began to show signs of abnormal physical weariness. It started to get worse. And then, he began to notice plants withering and dying at his touch. Realization struck. Somehow, somewhere, he had contracted the plague.
At first, he was filled with dread at the thought. But, throughout the metamorphosis, he began to learn to control the powers. To master them. To use them. Combined with his shapeshifting powers, he started to become more and more of a menace. But over time, the Plague started consuming more and more of his sanity. Not like he minded, though.
Skills;
"I use my talents however I please."
He has pretty good agility, and knows how to handle a sword. He's also good at stealth.
Theme Song;
Warrior by Disturbed. For blatantly obvious reasons.
Feelings about the War;
"The more chaos there is, the easier it is to do what I do best."
Weapons;
"I find weaponry to be quite boring when I compare them to my superior powers."
He has a katana. However, he doesn't tend to use this that often, due to it being a bit redundant.
Flaws;
"Me having flaws? Are you joking?"
As stated before, hubris runs rampant with this guy. And his temper is definitely not the best, and although he can grow more deadly, his tactics start dissolving, becoming more and more reckless. Which, depending on who he's fighting, can end badly for either his opponent or he himself.
"Don't bother remembering my name. It won't be of much use without a head to remember it with."

Powers;
History;
Skills;
"I use my talents however I please."
He has pretty good agility, and knows how to handle a sword. He's also good at stealth.
Theme Song;
Warrior by Disturbed. For blatantly obvious reasons.
Feelings about the War;
"The more chaos there is, the easier it is to do what I do best."
Weapons;
"I find weaponry to be quite boring when I compare them to my superior powers."
He has a katana. However, he doesn't tend to use this that often, due to it being a bit redundant.
Flaws;
Josef Kaiser
Name;
"Sometimes even I forget."
Josef Kaiser
Age;
"I think it was 13...or was it 15...maybe 12?"
17
Species;
"BURNWATCHEVERYTHINGBURNANDTURNINTOASHES!"
Fire Elemental
Sexuality;
"D'you think I care about that garbage?!"
Too crazy to care.
Profession;
"Well, it was a blacksmith about a week ago...then I was a hitman...and I think I was a combat strategist somewhere down the road..."
Whatever he feels like doing at that moment.
Appearance;
"Appearance?! You really think I care about my appearance?!"
Josef has an extremely unkempt appearance. Black hair that looks like it hasn't been combed in years, eyes of a pale green, and pale skin. His outfit is a jacket with an eye-jarring blend of black, red, dark green, dark blue, and various other colors, black pants, dark red gloves where some of the fingers have been torn out, and black boots.
Personality;
"You call it insanity. I call it the greatest thing that ever happened to me!"
This guy is absolutely insane. However, his insanity comes in multiple variations. Firstly, it partially manifests in very sadistic behavior and demeanor. He could care less if people die because of what he does. Matter of fact, he would prefer if that happens. He also has quite a sick and twisted sense of humor. He's also ridiculously paranoid. He has the constant belief that just about everyone is out to get him, and almost anything can be interpreted as a hostile action. On top of that, he has a trigger finger that itches 24/7.
Powers;
"BURNBURNBURNILOVEWATCHINGTHINGSBURN!"
Being a fire elemental, he's able to produce flames out of seemingly thin air, as well as being able to manipulate it. This can range from simply hurling fireballs to almost tidal-wave sized walls of fire. Fire does no harm to him whatsoever. He also has the ability to set himself ablaze, with no damage to himself.
History;
"Hm...what happened again...?"
Josef's history is known by few, especially because he can barely remember any of it himself. He does recall the moment where he obtained his powers, killing who he believed was some kind of Adduco spy trying to kill him, even when it was just an innocent bystander. He remembers being offered jobs as a contract killer, but he refused every one of them. And he remembers doing whatever he wanted to do, regardless of anyone who disapproved.
Skills;
"FIGHTING!"
He definitely knows how to fight. Unfortunately, that's just about it.
Theme Song;
Conflict by Disturbed. Listen to the song and it'll make sense.
Feelings about the War;
"..."
Depends on the day. One constant keeps showing up through: indifference.
Weapons;
"Be prepared! For everything! EVERYTHING!"
Let's see here...two knives stored in his jacket, a longsword strapped to his back, and a small pistol in his right pocket.
Flaws;
"Flaws?! What flaws?!"
Due to being crazy in almost every sense possible, his reasoning is almost non-existent. He doesn't work well in groups. His paranoia can make him hard to approach. And he sometimes jumps headfirst into fights that are doomed to failure.

P.S.
3,600 words, 12 pages on Microsoft Word, and that's not including the example SU's.
;_________;
So much effort.
But yeah, let's try this again, and actually succeed this time, eh?
