Hi everyone, since we've reached the milestone of version 42, I feel now is a time for reflection and a time for us to contemplate the bigger issues, such as the meaning of life, the universe and up or down itself for instance. 
Ok I'll be sensible and cut to the chase now, v42 going to break from the tradition of every version since v8 in that it will not be a themed version and will be a retro version that reverts to the original format of the game seen in versions 1-3 where you team was determined by the first letter of your username.
The rules are as follows:
- Game starts at 250.
- Users who have a username beginning with A-M can only count up with a goal of reaching 500.
- Users who have a username beginning with N-Z can only count down with a goal of reaching 0.
- Users who have a username beginning with a number, symbol or a character that is not in the Latin alphabet can choose to join either team but cannot change teams once they have decided.
- No ping-ponging rule still applies which means you cannot make another post in the thread until at least two other users have made a post since you last posted.
