Up to 50 new species of jumping spider discovered

Conservationists searching through the undergrowth of a remote mountain region have identified up to 50 new species of jumping spiders.

Medical science could benefit from the discoveries, said researchers, through the study of the chemicals contained in their venoms.

Insights into how to develop vision for robots and how to miniaturise could also be made by the study of the jumping spider eyes.

Those brand new species of spiders can pretty much seem they could jump up very high. They could almost jump up inside a tree with that high jump. Especially when I saw the video with Professor Wayne Maddison and he had come across one of the spiders in the 1st video while he was doing field work in Papua, New Guinea which also involved the helicopters and I saw that jungle in the background where it's said that the new species of jumping spiders dwell. He was actually going to the jungle in Papua, New Guinea to search for new species of spiders last Summer as it said in the disclaimer before the video. And if that was him in the helicopter, then he was probably flying high too looking for such species.
