Welcome one and all to issue 49 of Up vs Down, and the first hosting attempt by yours truly. In the latest edition, we have a Naruto-based game. Side with Naruto and you join Jiraiya's Succesors. Side with Sasuke and you join Orochimaru's Vessels. The rules are the same as always:
- All standard BMGF rules apply.
- The game starts at 250.
- Jiraiya's Succesors may only count up to 500.
- Orochimaru's Vessels may only count down to 0.
- You may choose to side with either team, but you can't change sides once you've chosen.
- No ping-ponging. You cannot post again until at least two people have posted since your last post.
If you've read the Naruto manga or watched the anime, simply choose which character you prefer. If you're unfamiliar with the franchise, pick the design you prefer.* Please don't pick one or the other solely because that's the one you've heard of. This way, the game has more balance.

With all that said, don't feel left out if you aren't into Naruto. I'll be providing commentary every now and then, but at the heart, it's just like any other Up vs Down, so please have fun!

Naruto had to accept the challenge. There was no way he wouldn't fight Sasuke. He'd been wanting to since the formation of Team Kakashi over a year ago.
"What's so funny?" Sasuke asked.
"I'm not laughing 'cause it's funny," Naruto replied. "I'm just psyched. 'Cause I know today's the day I finally beat you!"
"What did you say? Don't talk nonsense, you inept loser!"
"I won't be such a loser after I win today, will I?"
