UPNetwork is one of BMG's affiliates and Archaic is an old pal of Kuno's so I don't really see this as whoring out. >>;;

Anyway, we don't have enough people to get the tournament started and because of that, we've postponed it indefinitely. So I'm asking if there are any people interested. The rules are listed in the link and the sign up can be found here.

Currently there's like 5 who are pretty sure and 2 who are not so sure, totaling to seven. Not a nice number for a tournament. I believe Kuno wants about 12 or 16 or something. >>;;

Right now there's no prizes or anything, but I'm sure if there were enough people, we could strongarm one out of Kuno.

And even if there is no prize, you can just walk around declaring yourself the best competitive battler on two forums xd.
 
Well, with our own Wireless Garden postponed... why not get involved with this tournament?

Having said that, if we were for sure about its start date... I'd have no problem signing up.
 
If I knew when it was, you'd count me in. But there's no set date yet and I have a picky schedule....
 
i get diamond or pearl on thursday. it will probibly take me a week to beat the elite 4 and transfer my lv. 100's from ruby and leaf green. when is the tournement?

I can tell you right now that if you take up the attitude "I would like to play, but I'm not going to sign up until a definitive date is established ^_^" then you are never going to get to play. The webmaster's decision has been made clear: he wishes to invite people to sign up, and to then assign a tournament date that best suits the needs of the masses (so long as it is in the month of August). He will not be assigning a date until it is clear that many people (e.g. 16) have signed up and can get together in the same window of time.

So sign up now, you've got nothing to lose, and if Kuno decides not to work around your schedule, tant pis, there will be future tournaments to come. If he does decide to incorporate your personal schedule into his decision, then you'll be glad you signed up.

I MIGHT be able to make it, I have a tight schedule and I'm only half way through the game. If I could do a power session I'd be ready for the tournament... Damnit, I'm gonna have to find my Sapphire and LeafGreen so I can transfer my pokemon.
 
I want to join, but my wifi is mean and wont let me on for long periods.......

....That and I wanted double battle ubers.....
 
Well, it's not a set time/date arrangement. The coordinator (Kuno/Holy Emperor) will pair off everyone and let them battle each other according to their schedule, then someone will tell him who won in their match. Obviously there is a time limit of when people are to get the matches done, but it's pretty easy going.

I don't even have WiFi at my house >>;; I need to rely on friend's to get on.
 
Very nice...pirateing the wifi? J/K =) Fortunately I have a wifi router in my house, full coverage wherever I walk in it...what a relief. I can even get decent coverage over at 3 of my neighbors houses if needed...range boost wifi router ftw! o.o; Anyways, I read the rule thing and all. I ummm.....got sidetrack and forgot to play my Diamond version. Instead, I was playing Doom2 for GBA. I had some fun on the 'NIGHTMARE!'(hardest) difficulty slaughtering the minions of hell, my bad... ^_^

I read all the rules and regs, ummm are there any limits about trained pokemon because well....I've spent a load of time training and I have a lvl 28 happiny who's received the MAXIMUM amount of def up, spec def up, and hp up stat boosters every level since level 1, I used the vs seeker so much...so ummm, would it be allowed? Cause it may look like it is hacked because of it's super high defence. I use it as a meatshield while healing/reviving pokemon during battles, hence the high def/spec def/hp. I don't wanna be surprised about not being able to use it 5 minutes before the battle and not having a back up...

I'm cutting this post short and will be back in about 20 minutes. I really have to use the bathroom....badly....

Edit2: Not being able to use Mew is a tad unfair. It is not that strong, and I received mine fairly from a nintendo event... It is about the same strength as any other pokemon, minus the fact it can learn any move. Which doesn't matter heavily on a battle, any well set up pokemon could easily take out a mew with no problem. Would there be any way of allowing mew? Since he's not an 'uber', just a rarity. =\ It would be the same concept as allowing Celebi.

Have you never fought a Mew before? Like a real professional one? Those things are hella annoying. It's impossible to know what they're going to do as they can go physical just as easily as they can go special. And with a move list that includes EVERY TM in the game as well as EVERY MOVE TUTOR from the last generation of games, it's pretty easy to see how broken Mew is. Unlike Celebi, Jirachi, and Manaphy, it was never a question on whether or not Mew should be classed as uber. It is. Case closed.

I don't know why Celebi isn't banned. I just think Kuno forgot to list it. >>;;

Anyway, there is no limit on training except for the simple 510 EV limit that is built into the game. People are breeding and training for max stats, so feeding a Happiney a lot of vitamins isn't a problem in any way.
 
Also, it should follow that hacked Pokémon are a no-no, so if you don't have time to raise the creatures properly, don't think you have to resort to hacking to compete. Most people will be entering with incomplete teams anyway (read the thread for proof of this), so if you hack your Pokémon, sure, you may win, but it's the same kind of winning as walking into a children's daycare and beating everyone there at Guilty Gear. :\
 
Talon, are you kidding me? I got whooped in Guilty Gear by a 5 year-old once. =\ One of the most humiliating days of my life. I swear the kid wasn't human but the tests proved that wrong....anyways... >.>
 
Arg, I dunno if I'll be able to join now, I'm supposed to head to my grandparents for the next week or so, on and off. That and I start school in under 2 weeks...ugh x_x. I hope I can get myself some lvl 100s for this before it happens.
 
You do know that WiFi auto levels you to L100 right?

IT DOES?!?! =o I didnt know that. Well then, I'll just have to crank my pokemon's stats up big time and kick ass.
