I just wanted to pass this on. I believe Uproar makes pokemon harder to catch. I was trying to catch a Whismur in Pokemon X, in the Connecting Cave. I ran into a Whismur, and it was making an uproar. It was a low level mon, so it should have been fairly easy to catch. It was in the red, bout 1/5 HP left. I must have thrown 5 balls in a row, no success. I am a little hazy but I think this happened 3 times because I had no false swiper. This has happened to me in earlier Gen as well.

If you think about the move itself. Uproar. An Uproarious pokemon. Enraged, Stomping around, Yelling at everyone, pissed, Screaming, thrashing, resistant almost rabid. Just not listening, hot with anger, making a huge commotion. Saliva flying from the mouth, screaming as loud as possible. I believe that Pokemon in an Uproar are harder to catch. Think about the nature of how status makes them easier to catch. Uproar could make it harder. When you think about this try to think of it with the template of a random indie RPG to remove bias from all your poke years =). Any other experiences? I also am not a huge wiki man and do not participate on Bulbapedia. It's worth looking into, would like the pedia complete, and felt responsible to post this information.

Have fun!

Edit: I understand that there isn't much data to back this up. However, I am almost positive it works this way. This could have easily been overlooked, or chalked up to too much work.

Of course, first you have to rule out that the Random Number God just decided to hate you, so for that you may want to catch a lot of Whismur to get a clearer picture of what happened. (Whismur's minimum catch rate is about 25%).

(My personal case in point against the Random Number God: I've seen Will-O-Wisp -- a move with stated 85% accuracy -- miss its target three times in a row. On more than one occasion.)
