US premiere rumors?

So I was at my TCG league last Saturday and we discussing Gen Con and the guy who runs the league mentioned that PUSA had changed their mind about the TCG demo booth, but they were still going to have a booth. This, he explained, led him to believe that there was a possibility of the premiere being at Gen Con, because the TFG is supposed to launch Aug. 16, and GCI is 8/16-19. Has anyone else heard about this?
(I'm from Indianapolis, which is why the Pokemon presence at GenCon Indy is such a big deal. Since our league more or less runs things there, with the one from Ohio.)

Also, if that IS the case, since I'll be at the con, should I get some pics/scoop for BulbaNews?
 
We'd love it if you could. We really do need to get organized regarding that, given that I don't live in the US, and can't really get press credentials set up (hell, I don't even know how GenCon works those sorts of things). From the sounds of it from other sources, that will almost certainly be the date of release, but I have no further info about how it'll be handled in the US.
 
In this month's issue of the US Shonen Jump is an ad for the game.

I thought I'd post this in case it hasn't been discussed yet. In the ad, there's a picture of a non-random single-figure pack. It's a Groudon, and you can plainly see which figure it is without opening the package, like most action figures. (I've attached a blurry camera picture, but you can make it out. It's the one on the right) Does this mean that we'll be getting these instead of booster packs?

Okay!

It's two weeks away, and I still haven't heard if we're even getting a booth at ALL, but I shall do my best, even if it means skipping a panel... (the things I do for you guys...)
 
I saw a pack of these in town today, I had no idea what they were, I've never seen them before, Just for the record I live in England, I don't understand, surely they'll be released in America before Europe? There was just 1 pack, they didn't look japanese, I'll see if I can go back and get more info.
