I imagine that in a fully fleeshed-out pokemon world there will be people trying to get high off of some pokemons' abilities. So what do you guys think people would try?

I'm thinking Vileplume produces some hallucinogenic spores you can inhale, since it seems to be specialized in spore attacks.

I was also thinking that if you walk into Stantler's aura of distortion it could feel like an out of body experience type thing.

I think it's confirmed that Shuckle's berry juice is alcoholic, since it does that by fermenting berries. Imagine people farming Shuckle for their alcohol!

Drowzee and Hypno are likely used for their hallucinogenic capabilities. Some people in our world have addictions to sleeping pills so I'm sure there are people in the Pokemon universe that use Drowzee in a similar fashion. Paras and Parasect are also likely used for drugs. I also imagine that Girafarig could produce milk with hallucinogenic properties. I have no evidence for that but it just seems like it would be.

Unfortunately I can see people killing Pokémon in order to get their fix. Like, maybe Gloom's spores can have a drug-like effect on people, but what if there's a stronger effect after you eat or smoke one of its petals? Or yeah, maybe you can get some drug-like effect from a Tiny Mushroom or a Big Mushroom, but what if the effect is greatest right after you cut it off of a Parasect or Amoonguss? I can see people killing themselves just for a fix, too. Like, maybe someone finds the thrill of Litwick draining their life energy enjoyable, and so they gamble with their life to feel that rush. I wouldn't put it pass somebody to try these things out in the Pokémon world.

And I wonder if certain items that seem innocuous are actually addictive, or could become addictive with just a few small chemical changes. Like, are Chansey's eggs or Miltank's milk really delicious/nutritious, or is there more to it than meets the eye? Maybe these items do much more to people's body than they think, but because people feel good after using them, they assume that these items do good to their body, as well.

And then of course there are the drug-like effects you can experience without taking drugs at all. Stantler was mentioned, and I immediately thought about Gothitelle when that idea was mentioned, since you can see the stars through its distortion of space. And then imagine going through one of these space-distortion experiences while under the influence of drugs... !

Also, can drugs have an effect on Pokémon? What is it about Slowbro's tail that makes Shellder not want to let go? And are the toxins that secrete from Shellder do more than just make Slowking more intelligent?

So many questions.

That would be hilarious. But yes, unfortunately, with so many druggies out there, that would definitely happen if Pokemon were real (among many other things). With all of the spores/effects Pokemon can produce, I'm sure people that know how to use it would have a "great time". -_-

oddish's head DOES look like a leaf of Cannibis. and Ho-oh and Togetic spread Joy. Maybe the joys of getting high?

I've always assumed that Pansage was supposed to be like marijuana. Its leaves are supposed to relieve stress and its ability is Gluttony.

I wonder if Munna or Musharna has anything to do with drugs or trips. Munna looks very much like something from the hippie culture, and these Pokemon have to do with dreams. I got a shiny Musharna with purple mist on its head, so I started to think about Purple Haze.

I also think Hyakkie looks like someone from a drug culture, because of the hair and the expression on his face.

Expose a Leafeon to marijuana and you could probably get some interesting strains of weed.

Sleep Powder and Spore could easily become addictive (like real life sleeping pills).

What if Stun Spore "paralyzed" by making the target trip balls? I see plenty of people snorting stun spores for fun. Hey, what else is there to do out in the wilds?

And of course, Paras and Parasect are walking magic 'shrooms.

And don't forget electric and paychic types. A little deep brain stimulation could do some...interesting things.

lol, nice thread! x)

Hmm...with Cacnea, if you were to change the flower on it from yellow to pink instead, it always reminded me of peyote.

-Cacnea, I hope for your sake little poke, you run fast because all those Hero/Heroine stoners are out to get you........ @_@
