Certain moves have interesting effects that are only found on one type, and whether they are useful or not, what are the moves you would like see being redone as another type?
As an example of a precedent, Generation 4 provided us with U-turn, which is a Bug-type attack that makes the user switch out to another Pokemon after attacking. Generation 5 gave us another variation of this move known as Volt Switch, which is an Electric-type version of that move, albeit with slightly different properties (such as not making contact). Of course, as a differently-typed move, it is learned by different Pokemon from U-turn.
One such move that I would like to see is a Poison-type version of Freeze-Dry. If there is a type that would benefit from this type of attack, it would be the Poison-type, and it will be exclusive for Poison-types. Unlike the Ice-type, the Poison-type's weakness is their coverage, where 4 types resist it, 2 types are weak to it and 1 type is immune to it. In terms of the type to change from resist to weakness, the only type that would reasonably get this treatment is the Steel-type, since the other types are either not popular or overwhelming enough to need this treatment. It's a win-win for Poison-types overall: they have better offensive coverage and have a reliable attack without immunities (Steel's immune turns to weakness).
One aspect of the Poison-type that would penetrate Steel-types is corrosive acid, so this attack should be based on that. Much like Freeze-Dry, it should only be exclusive to Poison-types so that they have reason to be used offensively, considering how other types could use Poison better through luring unsuspecting Fairy-types. This attack should be Special, since it affects most Steel-types' vulnerable side, especially Skarmory. With that said, while many Poison-types are Physical, there might be some that would find room for it to surprise Steel-types.
Another move I would like to see is a Grass-type version of Will-O-Wisp. It should be powder-based considering how a few status-inducing Grass moves are powder-based. This will help Grass-types and certain Bug-types by giving them an extra ability to burn opponents, this time without the ability to activate Flash Fire (although it has overall more immunities, so it kind of balances out).
So again, what move variations would you like to see?
Thanks for reading.
