I already posted these in another thread, but they deserve to have their own.

It was from Nintendo Power.

Can anyone send me the video file, or even an audio version, zipped?

I still wish I had a copy, if someone other than the thread starter (since his tape skips) could give me the video file (zipped) so I could burn it onto a DVD...

Well, plus an extra L. But still. My name doesn't get used enough, in either variation. Woo.
 
lol, that's horrible. It really is a surprise that Pokemon caught on with that advertisement. It sounded like brainwashing and it was blunt about the merchandising. Hilarious!

I still don't remember how I found out about pokemon... but this is hilarious (The made up relatives is great in a horribly stupid way).

I want to blame 4KiDS for this... but Nintendo USA was never really good with commercials.. especially pre-GBAmicro.

Now we need the original Japanese commercials.. I think that'd be really interesting! (for the GB games, then the anime)

..oh yeah, and the made up sciencey terms (the ones that mean nothing) are cake! Its like its the 80s all over again!

I have this on video and brought it to school to show my friends that I DIDN'T make up the show. "See? Those (Ash's clothes) are the clothes I'm wearing! SEE?! It's going to be the most popular of all time, all over the world! And you heard it here from Ash, your resident Pokemon Master! *flashes "V" sign and begins singing Mezase*" ....I was a stupid little kid.

I remember screaming when I first found out the news online, and then screaming again when I got Nintendo Power's issue on it, and screaming again when I got the video, and nearly had a heart attack on the days that the show premeired, the day the Game Boy games were released, the day the cards were released, etc.

However, I remember being so upset about there being real people (pretending to be relatives/friends of the characters, no less!), and they they pronounced Pokemon wrong as well. And I got really excited that the Japanese cards were shown.

I got excited for the opening theme. XD "I'M GOING TO SEE THAT EVERY MORNING! ON AMERICAN TV! IN ENGLISH!"

Looking back on it, I noticed that they used the unaired/incorrect recording of the Pokerap. Listen for Rapidash's name. If they'd taken a little more time to edit, they would've caught the mistakes that we see in the official. The things the science teacher is saying make no sense, and the lady moves her fingers in random places while typing in "www.pokemon.com".

Yeah. Watching that video brings back memories. I remember that when I first read about Pokemon, I was so upset I couldn't be a trainer because I was only 9 at the time. :lol: Yeah, the Pokerap was done incorrectly, as well as the opening. There were a few differences between this one and the one that aired, for example, Moltres appeared in this one, but not the aired one, and Mew appeared in the aired one, but not this one.
 
That is incredibly awesome. What's a Pokécar? o.o I don't remember anything about a Pokécar.

Pokécar... hehehe...

Cheese factor is always win. I so wish I had seen this back then.

Man, after watching that commercial, It was really,really..really horrible..but it's nostalgia, damnit! *sobs*
 
Heh, I almost forgot how silly Ash was treated in the show back then.

He was always treated as if he was a moron in Season 1, I guess I'm too used to Ash in AG and D/P where he's treated with more respect.
