Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the twenty-seventh instalment in the Video Games Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: What are your thoughts on the Doctor and Nurse trainer classes? Once defeated, they can heal your Pokémon. Are they a relief, or do they make things a little too easy? This week's poll was suggested by Destiny Queen.

I think they're both a relief and handy feature, and also it's nice to have some trainers be more than just an exp-granting obstacle in your path.

For me, they were a total relief and time & money saver. I didn't have to go all the way back to the pokemon center in the middle of a dungeon, and they saved a lot of my potions and revives. I could train around them and use them all I want XDD

I wouldn't say it makes it easier, just saves the time you'd waste going back to the Pokémon Center. The one near Pinwheel Forest was really useful (although I probably especially noticed her as she was the first one), as was the one in Resort Desert.

They are a life saver sometimes! Like in Pinwheel Forest, you don't have to walk all the way back to Nacrene City.. Same thing in Desert Resort, Twist Mountain, and Victory Road. Its a real relief not to have to walk or fly to a city or something to heal at the Pokemon Center. Especially when you are in the middle of something like Twist Mountain or Victory Road where you have to find your way back out and then go all the way back to where you were in order to continue, and yes, thats the case for someone like me. I'm cheap, I don't buy healing items that much. The most I buy is Pokeballs!

They are very handy and make things less tedious. They simply save retracing your way to a Pokemon Center, which shouldn't be any challenge if you've already defeated all the trainers along the way. The quicker I get more EXP and have more fun, the better.

I think the concept is really interesting, and it's helpful. Nice to have a trainer that actually helps you when you beat them, in a way besides just giving you an item.

My god I love them!! the come in so much handy... One of the best thing in B/W

I loved that nurse by the Pinwheel Forest, since I kept getting poisoned mercilessly by Venipede in there. In general, I think they're very nice to have around, since it cuts back on frustration. And besides, if anyone thinks they make it too easy, well... Nobody's forcing anyone to actually USE their healing ability.

They have been quite useful once in a while. Especially I enjoy the nurse in Celestial Tower, it's such a long way to Pokémon Center from there.

Doctors and infinite TMs made any resource management this game ever had virtually non-existent. So yeah, I voted for the 3rd option.

"Hey, let's find a way to make the routes and game even easier you guys!"
"What could that be?"
"Okay, get this, let's put what's practically healing stations everywhere!"
"Fucking brilliant idea!"

I can understand the grinding sentiment, but that's a problem that shouldn't be solved by making the game easier. The routes need to be seriously kicked up in length, complexity, diversity and difficulty. Level grinding should be fixed with something else.

I think they're an improvement on the games. I'm cheap and dislike buying Potions, so being able to heal while on a long route is nice.

It'seasy for u sbecause we're older... think bout the kids who just started with Pokemon...

What is your point? I can vaguely remember managing every other pokémon game without them, they weren't needed before. Black and White weren't radically harder, at least when it comes to route design and trainers found there, so they are not needed for younger players.
