Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the thirty-fifth instalment in the Video Games Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. With that out of the way, here is the poll: Will we see any new Pokémon in Black 2 and White 2?. Although in the past, the idea of new Pokémon (not formes, species) mid-generation was considered silly, but then so were sequels. So now we have sequels, there are some who will think we might get new Pokémon - what do you think?

I think there is at least a possilbity that they will release a few new Pokemon in the games. However I dont think it'll be 100 or so, maybe just a few. Its never been done midway through a generation, but then again, neither have sequels, so the possibilty cant be ruled out just yet. I personally feel that would be an interesting way to mix things up this generation.
 
I don't think we'll get new pokemon, but it would be very very interesting if they did. I don't know if I would want a bunch of new guys or just a few. However, I feel that if they introduced new pokemon, they'd have to introduce new moves, too.
 
No, because sequels don't need new Pokemon. New Pokemon are better showcased in, oh, I don't know...maybe a new generation? That's probably just me though. u_u
 
No. If there were new Pokemon, connectivity between the Gen V games would become unnecessarily awkward, which Game Freak stated they were against during Gen III.
 
Apart from the Kyurem forms there isin't likely to be any new Pokemon in V2 of Black and White simply because it's not counted as a new generation, but rather a sequel to B/W. Also the new Pokemon would not be compatible with B/W V1, which haven't been around for very long when comparing to the previous Gen games.

So in other words B/W were only released mid last year and it would be pretty strange for them to suddenly rush into a new generation of Pokemon after only a few months lol.
 
No. I think one of the reasons for the shorter localization time of B2W2 is that they want to announce Gen.IV for 3DS in early 2013. So there's no need for any new Pokemon mid-gen,not mentioning compatibility issues it would bring.
 
I'd vote no because as much as it's interesting to have new Pokemon, the compatibility with BW1 will be a major issue for this idea, even if they're going to be only pre-evo/evos of Unova Pokemon.
 
As nice as it would be to get a few new 'mons, especially Cactowl, I don't see it happening. It would create a compatibility issue within gen V, so it's highly unlikely.
 
I'm hoping BW2 will be like GS, so I voted yes.
 
The only way I think that we'll see new Pokemon in BW2 is if they are set in a new region, which would make BW2 the first games in the 6th generation. I don't see that happening.
 
New Pokemon= New Generation

Gotta stay compatible.

(not to mention new gameplay mechanics, especially if they design some Pokemon to exploit some new game function)
 
I doubt we'd be seeing new Pokemon since I'm assuming that we'd be exploring the place where N was spotted. I suppose it's still an area in Unova. Probably formes, but not new species.
 
New formes, yes. New Pokémon, hell no. It's not a new generation, and they need to stay compatible.
 
There's really no need. We already got a boatload of new pokes, why do we need more right now?
 
I'm gonna have to say no. What I believe is that Black 2 and White 2 will take place in a region that used to part of Unova and separated some years ago therefore meaning no New Pokémon and as of now I am calling the region Eastern Unova. What they need to do is save the New Pokémon for Generation VI.
 
No more new Pokemon, maybe more new forms for Kyurem (already known) and others.
 
I highly doubt it.

But, if (and that's a BIG 'if) we were to get new Pokemon, I imagine it would be nothing more than just the original dragon that the Tao Trio came from. Even then, it could be just in a cutscene and never actually playable. The Pokedex does conspicuously end at 649 (remember this is supposed to be a Gen I throwback.)

Anyway, I'm still voting 'no' and I don't think it's likely we'll get any new Pokemon at all, but if we did, it would probably just be that one.
