Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the fortieth! instalment in the Video Games Forum's new weekly series of polls!

IVs honestly dont matter to me at all but If I got a Pokemon with great IVs, Id consider it lucky. Idid get a Totodile that has Flawless Speed and Attack and a great nature to go with it, so I really need to consider breeding it. Nature matters a little bit more. Im not competitive but I do want to understand what natures do for Pokemon and how they can use them.

In-game, IVs don't matter to me but Natures do to an extent atleast. I won't use a Pokemon with a nature that hinders its best stats.

If you want to play competititvely, then IVs and Nature are of utmost importance. There is no possible arguement to the contrary here.

Natures are my most concerns. IVs will only make things more frustrating because of how it makes Hidden Power more complex.

For in-game purposes: I only really consider nature. IVs are just a hassle for an in-game team. And even then, say if I wanted a Jolly Starly, if I managed to catch a Hasty or Naive one before I get a Jolly, then I'd take that too (Timid would be a no-no though because it would lower Staraptor's Attack stat).

But once I finish the game, I usually turn to breeding and RNGing so, natures and IVs do matter to me then. But for in-game purposes, I really only care about nature.

Not really. I don't battle competitively, so all that stuff in game isn't much of an importance to me. Natures matter some in game, I guess, but eh I can usually make do with whatever I get.

Actually I sort of care about what nature a Pokemon has. Only because I'd rather have a beneficial stat-boost than a useless stat-boost.

I can't be bothered with IVs and such, though.

They're both important to me, I can't stand the thought of either being poor with my competitive Pokemon, though I might settle for the second-best nature if I've been breeding for a strong fighter for ages and am beginning to get fed up with the whole process. (Naive instead of Jolly on a physical sweeper, for example)

I used to care, but I gave myself endless headaches trying to work out good IVs while maintaining a good Hidden Power for a few Pokemon. Since I'm terrible at math, it never worked out. Nowadays, I just Pokesav what I need, saves both time and my sanity.

As for Natures, no, not at all. I think it's neat when I get "stereotype-defying" natures, like my Charizard in FireRed who was Lax, something most people wouldn't expect a Charizard to be.

Natures are influential to a lot of extents, making them more important. They are also explicitally told, though you aren't told the effect themselves... but generally, it is unwise to disregard them even for in-game battling.

They also affect immersion in the games. It doubles as a detail the individual pokémon more to life, in a way.

IVs, on the other hand... are negligible. They are only important in competitive battling, and even then, they are there for optimization. That said, they also do small details with them, like Hidden Power Type, or the small blurb on the stats page... but they are far less important than nature and can be neglected to various extents.

I have to care about both, playing competitively as much as I do. However, if I get a great nature on a legendary, I generally don't care about IV's because I hate soft-resetting.

None of them matter to me because I never trained/bred pokemons for those reasons. It kinda makes the games too difficult for me, so I don't care much about them except for stats

Both matter to me, but if getting good IVs is too difficult, I don't bother anymore. I usually just forget about IVs.

No. I've chosen to not do anything in the game that is going to cause me endless hours of frustration, swearing, and tears. This includes competitive battling, hunting for shinies, and breeding for Natures or IVs.

Neither of them matter to me, it doesn't make that much of a difference to how easy it is to get through the game, and it takes more time to get a good nature and IVs, so I don't bother.

Natures somewhat matter to me in game. I'll never use a Pokemon with a nature detrimental to one of its main stats, however I'll sometimes use one with a not bad/not good nature (like my Staraptor with a +Def/-SpA nature) if I don't find something better. I never bother with IVs, though. I don't even know how to check em xD

Not at all. I do even bother with natures, and the only time I consider IVs is if I have two of the same Pokemon and need to decide which one I want to train.
