The 2026 Pokémon Belo Horizonte Regional Championships were won by Renzo Navarro, a trainer known for their three previous Regional Champion titles and victory in Pokémon Sword and Shield's Players Cup IV.
This tournament used the Regulation Set H ruleset, banning the use of all Paradox, Legendary, and Restricted Special Pokémon. The 2026 Championship Series concludes with the 2026 Pokémon World Championships scheduled to take place in San Francisco, California, from 28-30 August 2026, with the Video Game Championships division held in the upcoming Pokémon Champions title.

Renzo Navarro's winning team is a "balance" composition featuring many of the current format's most powerful and successful Pokémon. It's notably similar to the team used by Nick Arand to win the 2026 Milwaukee Regionals.
Finalist Victor Vieira brings an uncommon Pokémon to an impressive finish, with Rotom's Electric- and Water-type Wash form appearing on the team. With the Choice Scarf, it immediately outspeeds many Pokémon in the format, and has multiple great options for both offense and utility. Volt Switch allows for a quick pivot if Rotom is threatened by any opposing Pokémon; Hydro Pump is a powerful Water-type attack that can deal a surprising amount of damage; Electroweb slows down its opponents to allow Rotom's teammate to move first; and Trick allows Rotom to give its target its Choice Scarf, locking them in to the next move they choose.
Ricardo Torrijos similarly reached Top Cut with Pokémon that don't see much usage. While Dragapult and Annihilape are set up to move quickly and deal huge damage, with the latter holding the Choice Scarf to boost its Speed even further, the rest of the team is optimised for Trick Room, a move that reverses the turn order of the game to make slower Pokémon move first and faster Pokémon move last. As one of the slowest Pokémon in the entire game, Torkoal makes great use of Trick Room with the Fire-type attack Eruption, which has a base power of 150 as long as Torkoal is at full HP. Along with its Choice Specs and ability Drought setting up the harsh sunlight to boost the damage of Fire-type attacks, Torkoal can pick up one-hit knockouts on many Pokémon in the format, even a few that resist Fire-type attacks. Armarouge uses the infamous move Expanding Force, an attack that gains a huge power boost on Psychic Terrain and also targets both opponents. Additionally, it can use the harsh sunlight set up by Torkoal to boost the power of its Heat Wave. Finally, Hatterene uses its high Special Attack and low Speed stats to make use of Trick Room with the aforementioned Expanding Force. It also has access to Skill Swap, however, which allows for a very uncommon strategy: if Torkoal and Hatterene are on the field as Pelipper or Alolan Ninetales switch in to switch the weather to rain or snow respectively, Hatterene can use Skill Swap on its team's Torkoal to give itself Drought, which reactivates the ability to allow its team to keep control of the weather.
