So, I noticed a thread like this for movies, and I thought, why not have one for video games as well? This forum IS a video game-related forum, is it not?
However, this will be for games outside of the Pokemon series for obvious reasons. It's to discuss upcoming and newly released video games. Newly announced games and release dates will also be listed here. Members may create separate threads on games when the discussion on them becomes heavy. Otherwise, we'll just end up with a jumbled mess of confusion. Here is the list of guidelines that must be followed:
1. Only video games may be discussed here.
Handheld, home console, PC, anything like that. However, this excludes games for phones and such. They are not true video games, but more so little knickknacks for non-gaming devices. Just like the Netflix channel is a knickknack for the Wii and does not make the console a home theater.
2. Keep the topic only on upcoming and newly released games.
If you want to talk about an older game, make a new thread for it. This also means that only games on the latest consoles can be discussed (like the 3DS and Wii U) since obviously, nobody makes games for the N64 and such anymore.
3. If you are going to talk about game endings, plot twists, or anything like that, PLEASE use spoiler tags.
Some people, such as myself, hate spoilers and are tired of people posting game endings and such out in the open to spoil the game for us. So please use spoiler tags. It's quite easy. Just type your text, highlight it, and then click the button that has a picture of a speech bubble with a question mark in it. Or, you can type the tags yourself using this code:
4. Don't bash other people's opinions and views.
I can't emphasize this enough, because I've seen too many people do it to myself and others in the past. Everyone is free to have an opinion on something, so if they want to say the newest Barbie game is amazing, they can. And frankly, there is still one Barbie game I'm fond of myself and wish I could still play (it's too old). Got a problem with that? Keep it to yourself. Simple as that. However, you are free to criticize, just do it politely.
Basically, the rules are just about the same as those of the Movie Releases thread. All other forum rules apply. Now here are a few release dates that I know of.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS) - Undetermined, should be either sometime over the holidays or Q1 of next year.
Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS) - Spring of next year, I believe. Exact date is not presently known.
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3D (3DS) - Originally August 28th, but it was delayed...again. It will be out sometime this month of October.
Halo 4 (Xbox 360) - November. I forget the exact date, but it's the beginning of November.
I wish I had the money to get New Super Mario Bros. 2 so I could play and talk about it. xP
