One thing that does not seem to be looked at very much in the Pokémon World is video games. They do exist - the playable characters in the RPGs have in their rooms. Obviously for them, the real World is much more exciting. But if games consoles exist, then video games must have at least some popularity...

So if video games do exist, then they are likely to be different to our video games. After all, video games get inspiration foom somewhere, and different circumstances will result in different games. In particular with Pokémon replacing animals, many creatures will be different.

Blastoise as Bowser, anyone?

I'm pretty sure in the rooms they mentioned game systems but did they ever mention what games were in them?

I can't recall any mention of video games, apart from the conoles existence in the rooms! Pokémon Tech had a simulator similar to the Gameboy games, but that is the nearest I can think of.

I'm sure there are video games including RPGs, MMORPGs, and handheld game devices, but who'd want to play an electronic game when they could be training a fire-breathing dragon or swimming with a school of Mantine?

I'm pretty sure I remember that as well.

That Game is called "Mario & Wario" I believe, it was one of the first games for Nintendo that GameFreak worked on.

if you have any of the GSC games, a console(in the game), and PS2
go to "my room"
then you can see screenshots if you zoom into the TV
it has screenshots from a bunch of Nintendo games

uuuu new smilies! :lx105:

I imagine that, since Nintendo is the one that created pokemon (?), Nintendo also exists in the pokemon world.

I don't think Nintendo actually created Pokémon as a game; that credit is usually given to Satoshi Tajiri. Nintendo bought the rights to the game and is licensed to sell Pokémon games and other merchandise.

Yes, that was on the TV on the 1st floor next to Ash's mother.

That is a good point... the Pokemon world is already enough like a video game to work as such. Not to mention the various terrorist groups running around.

What confuses me are the random kids that are apparently playing with a Game Boy... and talk about trading pokemon, nevermind that every other interaction with other games actually talk about the games themselves somewhat.

And let's not get started on the celadon building... Though that was more like breaking the fourth wall.

Gamefreak did create Pokemon.
But technically Gamefreak created Capsule Monsters, and Shigeru Miyamoto made up the name Pokemon.
Nintendo produced it, and Shigeru has always been a major part of helping Satoshi with the games, but mainly as a mentor/whatever.
Thought Nintendo has made many side Pokemon games.

ANYWAYS.
You always see consoles in people's rooms. Almost always Nintendo consoles, which I find odd, seeing as the Pokemon world is so much more advanced than our world, you'd think they'd have systems equal to our next next next next next generation consoles, not Wiis. Lol

But to people's comments about how their world is so much more exciting, not only of course does your current world always seem much more mundane to you when you're in it, but for some reason, most people you see in the world aren't too involved in Pokemon things.
When you see a lot of people, in the anime, in big busy cities, you don't see very many Pokemon. I'm pretty sure that most people love Pokemon, but don't have any themselves.
I think that capturing and training Pokemon is only very common in smaller towns, like Pallet and Twin Leaf, as opposed to Celadon, or Golden Rod.

How about those overworld little kids with gameboys/ds's? Who talk about trading pokémons while holding items etc.? In the pokémon world, kids play pokémon games. No matter how stupid it sounds, it's true.

Kind of like the Sims, but pokemon...

makes sense I guess...
lol

But it is just breaking the fourth wall.

NPCs in Sinnoh play RSEFRLG, in which in turn NPCs play GSC, in which in turn NPCs play RBY, in which in turn NPCs play Japanese RG, in which in turn NPCs play... um... beta version of Pokémon Red/Green?

Nah.

I don't think they have parallel versions of our games, they seem to have the exact same video games and consoles as us.

Isn't Pokemon set in an alternate, but parallel, universe? I presume every country we have exists, however the "Pokeworld" is just in a different area from those places.

Nah.

No they secretly have a NES to play Quinty. Bon-bon(the main character in quinty) Is kinda like a beta version of Gary Oak. And Bon bon has a hat and actually is nice(it seems that way) and has a real girlfriend. Not some hooker cheerleaders off the street who just use you for a taxi all day.

And what does everyone mean by breaking the fourth wall?
