Has anyone heard of the cancelled games console that came out 15 years ago- 'Virtual Boy'? It was the shortest lived Nintendo console, and only had 22 games.

Yeah, and I have one. Got it when Electronics Boutique was clearing them out at like 30$

Hearing it phrased like you did makes me feel really old ._.

Some of the games on it were actually pretty fun. Especially the Wario Land game it had. I still think it's the best Wario game to date.

But yes, it did screw with your vision. I remember having a to wait about a half hour before a green tint would disappear from my eyesight after it playing it for a while. Strange that the tint was always green when the Virtual Boy graphics were all bright red and black.

I kind of wish they'd re-release those games in some form or another. I'd like to try out Galactic Pinball and Wario Land. Not enough to lay down money on the system, though, which can fetch a high price these days.

Where i live are several game stores. They get obsucre game systems in once in a while for high prices, and i saw a virtual boy used with box there. It looked cool but the price was high.

Galactic Pinball wasn't very good. It was way to sluggish for a pinball game, the only reason I ever lost the balls was kind of on-purpose because it just kept going and I just wanted it to end...

Had a neat novelty of having a Metroid minigame in it, though. You got to control Samus' ship in a Galaga-esque shooting game. Only problem: It was in the LOWEST possible layer of the screen, you could barely see a damn thing on it (the screen did not shift to minigame screen, you played it right on the same screen as the pinball field)

It was also really, REALLY freakin' hard to unlock. In my entirety of playing that game, I only triggered it twice.

Also the chance of these games being rereleased... unlikely. The Virtual Boy worked by overlaying two different images, essentially fooling your eyes into seeing "one" screen. There's no way to emulate that as far as I know, and I don't think Nintendo will ever revisit them to fix them to work on one screen.

But the only game that's really worth any effort is the Wario Land game.

That's basically the only reason I'd even consider getting it. Of course, now we have Prime Pinball, so...

I think they could, if they utilize the current 3-D technology being used in some HDTVs... which are really freakin' expensive and require huge glasses to sit on your face. Or they could just make a more standard version without the 3D effects. In any case, I really doubt there's enough interest to justify the cost of doing all that.
