It'll be added to the US Wii VC Monday for 1000 points.

I remember this game being pretty fun.

It's a fantastic game, one of the best puzzlers ever made.
Already got it on cart, though, but it nice that others get it available. For 10$, it's a steal.

(the only better deal would be getting NES Dr. Mario for 5$... come on, Nintendo)

This game is great. I beat Mewtwo on Super Hard mode, which as I recall, is the hardest thing to do back in the game.

The funny thing about this game is the cast of characters. It has all the characters up till the end of Orange, which means Tracey is there but no Johto Gym leaders or anything.

No, it came out during Johto. It was released together with Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the GBA, which took it's inspiration from Gold and Silver.

However, since the game was directly based on the anime, and the anime was nowhere near the end of Johto, it would be hard to get a conherent plot when they couldn't use all 8 gym leaders, due to the anime versions of these not being designed yet. Same reason why the "Elite Four" only consists of Lorelei and Bruno - the other two hadn't debuted yet.

*Checks through Bulbapedia and Nintendo Database*

Actually, in the US, Puzzle League came out on September 25th, 2000, several weeks before Kids' WB aired the first episode of Johto, which in turn was the day before Gold/Silver's release, on October 15th. Puzzle Challenge--which was for the Game Boy Color, not the GBA--later came out on December 4th.

In Europe, Puzzle League, Gold/Silver, and Puzzle Challenge came out in 2001 on March 2nd, April 6th, and June 7th, respectively. I don't know when the Johto anime episodes started airing there, however...

PLEASE oh please let this lead to a DS version. Please, Ninty, please.

But yeah. Pokemon Puzzle League. I bought a used N64 just to play that game.

Good stuff. Especially the 3D mode. Why oh why did they not include that in Planet Puzzle League?

Yay, I downloaded to my Wii yetserday, I haven't played that for the last 4 years since I lost my N64 controllers. I used to love playing 2 Player Mode where you could pick the characters.

But its weird playing on the Game Cube Controllor, going to take some getting used to that, and I'm a bit rusty.

And for anyone wondering if any changes been made, no, its the same game as it was when it first released.

OMG! I've been hoping for this since I got my Wii!!!! I'm so excited!!!

How do you get Wii points?

Also, I'm getting a Wii at Christmas, and I'm not sure whether to download Puzzle League onto it or just buy the N64 catridge (I already have a special Pikachu edition N64 with Snap and Stadium, and I'm getting Stadium 2 in a couple of weeks) so would it be worth updating?

Or shall I stay retro and add to my collection?

You can order Wii Points right off the Wii's Shop Channel using a credit card, or you can buy them at the store on "Wii Points Cards". A card will contain 2000 points, and retails for around 19.99, plus any taxes your region may require.

With a credit card, the 1000 points required for Puzzle League will only cost $10, while 2000 points would cost $20, and so on.

it depends on the controller you want to use. It is easier with the N64 controller.

Personally, I'm very glad and thankful that Pokemon USA kept the voices and that they didn't change the game.

As soon as my mom takes me to GameStop, I'm gonna ask her to buy me a Wii Points card. XD

It's funny, because I actually still have my N64 and I still have all my games as well (including PPL). So basically, I've been buying games that I already own, a second time, just so I can play them on my Wii. Am I lazy or what? LOL. XD

Anyway, I love Pokemon Puzzle League. It's one of my TOP favorite games on the N64. <3

That cutscene at the beginning is AWESOME!! :crush:

Also, my favorite thing about the game is that, I get to play as Ash and hear him say all those cute phrases, during the different puzzle stages. I'll even go to Ash's Profile and play around with all those things he says. Hehe. XD

Of course, I've almost beat the game (N64 cartridge). But I can't seem to beat Mewtwo on Super Hard Mode. I keep losing, and then the game always takes you back to Gary's level (which I keep beating and then proceed, only to lose to Mewtwo again and again). O.O

I also really like the music in this game! I thought it was interesting how they used instrumental versions of songs from the 2 Be A Master soundtrack. ^^

But actually, my favorite songs in this game, include the song that plays during Bruno's stage (1 Player story mode) and the song that plays during Giovanni's stage (1 Player story mode). I love how they used 4Kids BGM! I think it's awesome how they decided to use BGM from the anime! Those are two of my favorite tracks!! :-D

That music is epic. I wish I knew where it was from.

The evil wedding march in the wedding stage of Spa Service is also awesome.

It's from the Pokemon dub.

This is a BGM track that 4Kids made for the show. You can hear this song in the very first episode (along with the song from Bruno's stage as well). ^_^
