So, as mentioned in an earlier thread, I have no capability to get my 3DS on the internet for quite a while. I had a question though.

Could you theoretically backup your micro SD card, send everyone in RBY to the Poke Transporter, and then restore the backup to your micro SD and repeat? Not sure if that's possible or something that Nintendo has caught on to?

Yeah, I think Nintendo would have anticipated save exploits like these when they designed how the data is stored on the SD card. In general, if you just make a straight copy the Nintendo3DS folder, the next time a game saves to the SD card it changes some kind of timestamp / hash / security token on the folder so the copy you made is no longer recognized as valid.

I think Nintendo has a checksum verification that prevents you from doing that. I'm not sure, but I think I've read that each save has a unique code connected to it. Effectively, once you add pokemon to pokemon bank there would be a new code, so your system would know that you've already uploaded mon's from that save.

Yeah, nah. The save data is stored in some weird way that you can't back it up without external tools. Discovered that the hard way, where I had to replay the entirety of Pokémon Sun 'cause the memory card that came with my 2DS started having problems.
RIP Snorlium Z and Mewnium Z.
