I think it'd be a sick way to kind of pull all five generations together if Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and the fifth region were all tied into the storyline of the next games.

There have been rumors of this being the last gen, so one way to go out with a bang would be for one character to defeat 40 gyms and become the Champion of the world.

This could include beating the heroes of every previous generation at some point in the game, just like the battle with Red at the end of GSC.

Just some late night speculations. Discuss.

You know, for a forum that is pretty heavily into rumor-mongering about the next games right now, there's been a noticeable lack of mention of any possibility of this being the last generation.

Look at Mario. Look at Zelda. Look at Metroid.

This is Nintendo. They do not let these things end.

Its like everyone who thinks of putting all the regions into one game is a Messiah and its never been thought of before. Save your breath and stop thinking its going to happen.

No. Nintendo would never do that because they'd rather it if we went out and bought five different games instead of one big game.

And there's no way it would be able to fit in a DS cart.

And if there's five regions and forty gym leaders, that would mean that the levels of the eighth gym leader would be anywhere from 15 to 20.

I doubt we'll ever see a game with ALL the regions. As HG/SS shown us, we can have two, but they'd have to be pretty scaled down compared to the originals.

To be honest, as long as it doesn't mean the new region isn't scaled down, I'd be quite happy to see a scaled down Post-E4 Hoenn (Either without the Elite 4, or sharing the Pokémon League with the new region) ; and if we don't get it, then I'll allow the R/S-Remake Train to leave the station.

The next region needs to have a "O"
Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh coz they all got "Os"

A second region is a must-have. I don't care if it's scaled down as long as they'll have it. I highly doubt about them including a third region though, not 'cause it wouldn't be possible (on the contrary, I believe it'd be quite possible) but 'cause I think GF wouldn't just bother. Hoenn could be a possible region but since they're so intent on making the DS Pokémon RPGs tie together with Sinnoh (like the Battle Frontier and the Sinjoh ruins), they might want to connect Sinnoh and the new region together like Kanto and Johto go together. I know Sinnoh is massive but they could scale it down and relocate some of its standard features (GTS, Safari Zone, Pal Park, Name Rater, Day Care) to the new region.

I dunno what they'd do with the League, maybe Sinnoh and TNR (The New Region for short) will share it alá Kanto and Johto or maybe Sinnoh's league will be destroyed by North Korea's... I mean the new villain team's (TNVT's) nuclear missiles and its E4 and Champion will transform to disfigured mutant legendaries as a result. Flint and Lucian will be the version mascots of the first two versions while Cynthia's the mascot of the third version with a badass new forme. Aaron and Bertha will become useless legendaries no gives a crap about like Cresselia and Heatran.

And TNR, you better gonna have some bathrooms or else... How come we've never seen any bathrooms in any of the main games? (/joke)

Can you image how low leveled everything would be to have the levels evenly distributed?

regions we won't see next gen:
Johto
Sinnoh
Shinjo
Fiore
Almia
Oblivia (if that was its name)
Pokémon square region
Treasure town region

Regions we'll probably see:
Hoenn
New ranger and mystery dungeon regions

Regions we might see:
Kanto
Sevii
Orre

Tadaaaa.

The name of the ruins is Sinjoh, which is hardly the same thing as the name of the region that surrounds them. But I digress, as your certainty that the region will not be explored is amusing; I suppose that you have a rational explanation as to why it is more suitable for Generation VI? We will undoubtedly see it eventually, so why not now?

Your certainty that the region will be explored is amusing. Just because it was in one event doesn't mean it's going to be part of the next region. You bash us on unfounded certainty yet you yourself remain convinced of this region with unfounded certainty. While it would be nice, the ruins are erected as a symbol of the combination of Sinnoh and Johto. Fitting for the current generation. So, there is no guarantee any side is correct.

I agree with this. It saddens me, but I agree with it.

Did I say there was any guarantee? I'm not the one who came up with an arbitrary list of regions that might be revisited and ones that are off-limits.

The Sinjoh Ruins are situated in the same island as Kanto and Johto. It is widely agreed that Game Freak will exhaust all regions of Japan before moving the series to another country, so it is only a matter of time before we see the region in question. If anything, the relationship to Generation V justifies showcasing the region at hand sooner rather than later (when the DS games are still marketable).

The way I see it is that there at two, maybe three areas of Japan that they haven't based a region off of yet so that leads me to believe that there will be two or three more generations before they either end the series (not likely atm, but we don't know what the future will hold) so whenever they've used up all of Japan's landmass they'll make one huge game with all the regions in it & the either end the series or start basing regions off of other places.

i think they will start basing off other places if they keep making the money they do now with it. If that is true where in the world is safe from Nintendo's copy mapping? Where?

United States, Europe, Australia. They have a lot to base off of.

But where is safe? they could use anywhere! where could we hid? I don't know about you but when my house becomes the center of a cave I don't want to deal with 15000 zubat from when I get up till when i finish breakfast.
*hides in fetal position behind a door* "too many zubats. too many zubats."
