I've seen a lot about this on my Pokémon news searches recently since it is Microsoft's answer to Pokémon and 4Kids' answer to loosing the merchandising to Pokémon.

Basically, Microsoft are learning from Nintendo to widen their audience and are creating a new franchise to rival Pokémon. It is aimed at children and features "a cast of colourful, wild-roaming piñata animals". The franchise will include an immersive video game exclusively for Xbox 360, a Saturday morning 3-D animated television series and merchandising.

I might consider buying an Xbox 360 if this turns out to be good. And even the Pokémon console games could benefit from seeing how this is done. (And Nintendo still have the innovations of the Revolution at their disposal.)

The official website.

It looks more like a combination of Roller Coaster Tycoon and a rejected Pixar or Dreamworks computer animated film. I don't know whether to laugh my head off or to be utterly disgusted.

Yeah... on further look it really is aimed at children and the game is not enough to buy an Xbox 360 for. It might still be something to keep an eye on, though.

On another note, I am positive that I have heard one of the pieces of music used in the video in the Pokémon dub.

The usic you heard is the "You did it!" music from various episodes, such as Misty's Cerulean Blue episode.

I love PennyArcades take on the game...heh heh

I am horrified. No, horrified is putting it mildly. I don't know if there's words to describe how I feel.

I cried this morning when my sister's boyfriend saved over my recently started Monster Rancher game. I still feel awful knowing that my Red and Yellow cartridges had their battery packs run out and my saved data was lost, like I'm an awful trainer who couldn't help my Pokémon when they needed it most and will never see them again. Even my Tamagotchi I never had the heart to destroy no matter how much I loathed the thing and its endless beeping. I become very attached to any creatures I raise. I simply love them. I feel very proud when I see them do well, and horrible whenever they are defeated by another. Seeing them hurt is always difficult for me to bear, even though I know they are only pieces of data...

In short, I form a very strong bond with anything I raise. It's the sort of person I am. I think a lot of Pokémon players are like that.

The thought of raising any creature for the single purpose of letting it get beaten with a stick by some little brat... I literally twitch in response to it.

Although on the other hand, the creatures are not very appealing in any way and I don't think I'd mind seeing those things get hit with a baseball bat until their insides come out, as opposed to the creatures of almost any other monster game ever.

But overall, I think I just very strongly started believing the words uttered backwards by James while his head was stuck in the mouth of a Victreebel...

I'm finding something oddly appealing about this game, although Rare has been on the downslope for quite sometime and i think that this is just foreshadowing an ultimate Rare demise.

Gotta love the Penny Arcade guys.

I can't say I've ever been a big fan of Penny Arcade, but they definitely win.

Odd note - ever since playing Ruby, every time I hear the names Gabe and Tycho I can't help but think of Gabby and Ty.

I think what really freaks me out is the bonus video where the pinata is talking about his grandfather eating his candy and stuff.... o_O;;;

Just what we need. Pokemon in sombreros that bleed candy.

Ludicolo: The Sadomasochism Adventures.

Speaking of which, is it me or does KidsWB constantly go for the hispanic audience with just barely not racist marketing - Mucha Lucha anyone?

I've never understood how Mucha Lucha was racist. It's one thing if they were all illegal immigrants, or working on farms during the planting season. But...they wrestle and eat donuts. That's like...racist towards fat white people.
