Ooh, it's still being distributed by Viz, just like the 8th movie was.

I wonder if that could possibly mean......

Nah, probably not (but hey, there's nothing wrong with being hopeful, lol). ^^o

There's nothing wrong with being hopeful. There's something wrong with announcing your hopefulness on every single thread that has to do with the dub.

LOL, yeah that's true, Joey. XD

But to be honest, I get carried away with that sometimes, and I can't help myself. Heh, I guess you can blame that on my positive/optimistic personality. ^^o

Eh, I was hoping February, but atleast it's not as long as the Lucario Movie took time to release.

And, it will get kids pumped for DP.

The same month as the English release. We could know the names of the starters before then. Oh well, we found out the names of the new pokes featured in Lucario's movie by other means, but that may have been due to special circumstances. We know we are getting Perap's name for certain before then. Buoysel and Tamanta were not featured too much beyond the 9th movie. I could be surprised, since all the info that we saw happen in a matter of 5 months for the JP release now has to be compressed into 4 months. Actually, one of those five has already happened and I didn't realize that they could perfectly analog every month of Coro Coro's D/P updates. If I am right, then next month we should find out what our otter friend's name is... http://www.filb.de/content/scans/corocoro/2006-07/DPSpecial_Page_4-5.jpg

Ha, it looks like they definitely wanted to get the last AG movie out before D/P was released.

Releasing the 9th movie on April 3rd when D/P comes out on April 22nd seems smart to me. Gives kids a sneak peak at Manaphy and let's them see the AG cast one last time before the switch to D/P starts.

Wow, I just thought of something. O.O

I wonder if Pokemon USA/TAJ would actually put an audio commentary on this DVD?

I mean, 4Kids thought enough about the fans and was actually nice enough to make not one, but 3 audio commentaries for us. And they were on the first, 3rd, and 4th movie DVDs respectively.

Anyway despite my thoughts about the VA switch and everything, if they decide to put an audio commentary on the 9th movie DVD, I would definitely listen to it (if I don't buy the DVD, I'll rent it or something - I'd find some way to hear the commentary).

I love commentaries!! They're interesting, and they give you so much information that you can't get anywhere else. ^_^

If they do a commentary, I hope they actually do a proper one...not the half-assed commentary they did for the Celebi movie.

You actually have a good idea, congrats.
I too would a commentary, and widescreen. But after reading the article on Bulbapedia, its apparently fullscreen.

A second audio track where the cast just rambles on and on about anything vaguely related to the movie.

A lot of the times, these "ramblings" will have some very interesting info that you won't find anywhere else.

This is true even of the fourth movie commentary...the reason I think it sucks so much is because they're all talking about the TV show when they should be talking about the actual movie. I would have much rather heard about the whole process of getting the Japanese animators to create additional scenes for them instead of hearing about how Maddie Blaustein got negative feedback for her Bill voice. While the stuff they had to say was interesting, it would have been better suited for one of the TV series DVD's (they could certainly use the extras as well).

Also, the commentary was laughably short...it just sort of *stops* abruptly in the middle of the movie. Very unprofessional.

Wait...the movie is confirmed too be in Fullscreen?

Also, Commentary allows us too hear the VA's talking in their natural voices.

...why do they do that!? It's not like kids' movies are never in widescreen.

This is so freezin' frustrating. :/

What do you mean by "audio commentary"?
Basically, in the Pokemon audio commentaries, you will see the movie play like normal, and it will play all the way through. However, instead of hearing the movie's audio (such as the characters speaking and the background music playing), you will hear the voices of the dub director - Michael Haigney - and the dub producer - Norman Grossfield.

So far, there have been 3 audio commentaires made. The one on Pokemon 4Ever has the Pokemon VAs, along with the dubbers, and as a special guest they also have Jim Malone (another director of the anime/movies).

If they do a commentary, I hope they actually do a proper one...not the half-assed commentary they did for the Celebi movie.
Wow, I didn't know that you've seen the 4th movie commentary. That's great, Dogasu!! ^_^

Have you seen the first and 3rd movie commentaries, by any chance? I'd very much like to read your thoughts on all the commentaries. Do you have reviews of them up on your site?

Anyway, yeah, that was weird about the commentary on 4Ever. ^^o

I think they just got caried away with the idea of the whole cast being there, the VAs and the dubbers. Then they just started saying random, but very interesting, things about the TV series.

Yet somehow, every now and then, Michael and Norman still managed to get a few words in about the 4th movie specifically, lol. XD

Did you notice that, Dogasu? I thought that was amazing, and I found it to be quite amusing. ^^

I completely agree with you, Dogasu.

I thought it was very strange as well, how instead of talking about the movie and the process of creating additional scenes, they started talking about the TV series. Although, they did mention the fact that they talked to their Japanese counterparts and got them to create additional scenes for them. They just didn't elaborate on that, or talk about it in full detail.

Anyway, what you said is true though. While the 4th movie commentary was very interesting indeed, it would've made a lot more sense if they had put it on one of the TV series DVD's instead (since those never have any extras or anything).

Also, the commentary was laughably short...it just sort of *stops* abruptly in the middle of the movie. Very unprofessional.
Yeah, I never understood why they did that......

Do you think maybe they ran out of time? Or they could've been worried that if they made the commentary the full length of the movie, that it wouldn't fit on the DVD?

In the commentary, one of the dubbers mentioned how he "hopes it will fit on the DVD". It sounds like they were worried about it fitting on there or something. O.O

I'm sure they'll make a widescreen version if demand is high enough; this isn't 4Kids we're talking about. Hey, I have a widescreen 4Ever movie and I freakin' hate it like that.

Anyways, I enjoyed the commentary on Pokémon 4Ever, and I don't mind the way they talked about the series.
