Volume One goes on sale June 2nd, 2009 while Volume Two goes on sale August 4th, 2009. Both will MSRP at $7.99.

No word yet on whether or not these will still be flipped, contain the Green/Blue mixup present in the original printings, etc.

So this will be the whole fricken thing unlike that crappy "Best of" stuff? Good.

If they ever get to Volumes 8+, then the times I trust Chuang Yi will be over.

But most likely, they'll re-release only those 7 volumes they translated. Maybe with some minor corrections, or completely the same.

Well they don't have the best translation but it beats ordering volume 1-7 on the internet!

If the first volumes start selling well enough, I imagine they might translate future ones.

Still, that's gonna be a LOT of manga to translate/sell...

It's not *that* many. Viz has certainly had to deal with larger backlogs with other series.

Finally.
Hopefully characters that shall remain nameless won't be given stupid stupid accents.

Wow! Now there's actually a little chance for me to get this manga! I feel bad now that I spoiled everything since I thought they'll never release it again
I hope a certain comic store here will get these... and hopefully I'll have money by then
I really have to get it! And I think everyone should try to buy it even if they have the old edition if you want them to continue translate volumes 8 and up!

*celebrates by doing the happy dance*

ABOUT TIME. Now I can finally have my English volume 3--and everything else too! And I can dump the "Best Of" on some unsuspecting chump.

You know, last night I had a dream that I wrote to Pokemon.com asking why PUSA doesn't take over manga printing like they took over everything else, but I guess now I don't have to do that.

This should be on BulbaNews, by the way. Manga doesn't get covered enough there.

I think in addition to buying the manga, we should also send e-mails to both Pokémon.com and Viz to express how happy we are to get it released again and beg them to release 8 and up as well
If it'll sell enough and they'll see a demand to 8+ than who knows? they might do it...

...I literally just did the happy dance. Complete with screaming at the top of my lungs, running around, and touchdown goals. XD I dunno, Special vol. 1-7 aren't all that great, and they'll probably just be reprints of the first edition, but this just feels like a victory.

Fantasy-world wishes which will likely not come true: no flipping this time and let's keep Blue's and Green's names correct (even though that contradicts GSC). And I hope they keep the covers the same as the Japenese version, and, most of all, continue onto 8+.

Fantasy-world wishes which won't come true: maybe someday they'll release a Vizbig release of Electric Tale, with no flipping and no editing from the Japanese graphic novels (which may mean a T rating, but whatever). And then we can get the same treatment for all of Magical Pokémon Journey over three volumes... As well as releases for every other Pokémon manga ever. :D

I don't mind flipping as much (except when they flip Korean books to make them look Japanese and then try to pass them off as "100% authentic manga", because that's just insulting our intelligence), but the rest of it yes.

And I like how you qualify "no editing from the Japanese graphic novels" since there's no way in hell they'd release the originals here if they were too much for JAPAN.

MPJ's continuation would be sweeeeeet, especially if they continue with Chamo Chamo Pretty (and take out those symbols in the title since they make it impossible to properly speak of the series).

YES! This is awesome news. I don't care if they simply re-release what they released before or fixed their mistakes. At least they're doing something with Pokemon Adventures that's a lot better than that "Best of" stuff. I actually only having the first four volumes, but I'm definitely going to buy these volumes when they come out. They may release volumes eight and onward if the sales are good enough. Man, that would be so awesome. I would much rather read the manga without the use of the Internet and hopefully this will lead to more volumes being translated and released here in the U.S.

Well, this is a surprise. I literally yelled "Holy crap!" when I read it. (I'm glad no-one else was home. >_>)

Funnily enough, I only just caught up reading vol 28 of the Singapore release (online that is) yesterday.

I'll buy these if, and only if, they're released unflipped. Flipping manga is a ridiculous thing to do in my opinion, and I simply can't allow myself to support it financially.

I can see Viz going either way when it comes to flipping. They unflipped Fushigi Yuugi when they re-released it in graphic novel form, but I think they still keep Inu-Yasha flipped, even today. So it's hard to tell what they'll do.

What is for certain, though, is that Viz'll be censoring Jynx the way they did in the "Best Of" books.

Well they don't have the best translation but it beats ordering volume 1-7 on the internet!

If you want them in English, Chuang Yi's versions are identical to Viz's anyway.

But hey, this is nice. I already got these books, but they'll at least reach a wider audience now.

Words can not express how happy I am right now. This is awesome. It's a long wait, but damn I thought it would never happen.
