I'm interested in the dub actors too, but mostly the Japanese seiyuus. It's been over 15 years and I've never heard any threats of any of them leaving. They definitely deserve raises for being there so long, more so if they never pull any revolts, ala the Simpson actors.

Here's an interesting blog entry about the poor working conditions for anime animators and seiyuu (this blog entry was posted in May 2006, so I'm not sure if there has been some drastic change since then). Since Pocket Monsters is a popular franchise, the seiyuu salary is probably higher than regular anime, and the seiyuus are probably treated with more respect than the conditions explained in that blog. I bet long-standing seiyuu like Rica Matsumoto and Megumi Hayashibara stay with the show to keep a steady flow of income and, of course, they're dedicated and passionate about their characters.

With Rica it also gets a little muddy because she also does music fairly often, which leads to a separate set of compensation and royalties.

Edit: I forget J's voice who is voiced by Takako Honda

There are interesting things in that list. I put the birth year because it's interesting to se the age of the VA when they voiced the characters. Rowan stands out. Here is the two mains who have died and there are curiosities int he list like that list explains for the most part why for example, some characters are not coming back into the show.

It's good to see that the VAs are still pretty young, late 30s to early 40s.

Is it really customary to strike in Japan? I'd imagine the VAs are getting paid a good salary, this franchise prints money practically.

Just because someone appears in Pokemon, a famous franchise, doesn't mean they get paid with sacks of gold. The average amount they get paid for voicing an episode would probably the same as any other anime. However, I'm guessing it depends on the value of their voices as well. Seiyuus like Miyano Mamoru is in the top percentage of seiyuus, as far as I know, so I won't be surprised if he actually gets more money compared to other seiyuus. The more famous an actor is, the more money you make. Voice actors aren't different.

In a video I saw of Eric Stuart at an anime convention, he said the 4Kids VAs got paid by the hour, which was very rare apparently.
