Voice Previews from Pokemon Learning League Site

So I was cruising ANN, and they had a link to the new Pokemon Learning League website (it's a learning thing for grades 3-6). If you click on the sneak peek link, you'll get a long preview of Ash and May's new voices.

Interesting. The acting is a bit dry because it is supposed to be educational (bah), and there is no music, but you get a feel for the voices.

Only Ash and May, huh? Dammit, I know this is off topic but she better be in the next series. -_-

I mean, how can you tell?


To me, it sounds like the same one that was in the CN commercial for season 9.


And by the way, I HATE Ash's new-new voice for season 9, especially if it's gonna sound like that. X_X

Are you sure Lisa? It sounds like the old Ash but I can barely tell the difference ^^

That does sound like the original Ash from the first Mastermind dub rather than Sarah's though. :/

Well, okay I admit, I can't tell the difference between either Ash VA. Whether it's the new Ash or the new-new Ash, I can't tell either way.

They both sound very similar in my opinion.


And neither of them sound close to VT's Ash voice at all. Which is why I know I'm gonna cringe as soon as I see "Fear Factor Phony" on Friday. When I hear that voice, I have a feeling it's gonna be the same as the voice on the original Mastermind, except maybe a bit better and improved in quality (like just a tiny bit closer to Ash's voice, but not by much).

But still, no matter how close it is, that's no where near as good as the real thing. :-(

May also sounds too much like Misty.

First May sounded like she was 30, now she sounds too much like Misty.

Whatever, at least it is half-way decent.

Actually, say the voice in that clip still makes May sound like she's around 20 to 25. O_O


And I hate it when the characters sound wrong age wise. That really sucks.

Surprised they only had Ash/May do this, we don't get to hear any of the other characters speak. Guess they only wanted the two most important characters to have a role in this project.

Shame we still haven't heard the new TR voices from the redub.

Ash's voice is Sarah (not the voice in Mastermind), and the May voice sounds a bit like the one from Mastermind, but I haven't really compared. By "new" I meant "not Veronica".

Agreed. Veronica Taylor has nothing on Matsumoto Rika.

Anyway, the new voices don't sound half bad. Acting's a bit stiff, but the actual voices themselves are serviceable.

Eh, I didn't mind the voices, lovely to hear them speak as much as that, I'm sure I can get used to them, though I spent most of the clip thinking "So this is how they get their education lol"
