Grotle, Bulbasaur, or Donphan.

Grotle has obviously become a tank in its new stage. They even had that whole episode dedicated to its shift from speed to defense. We haven't seen its true defensive capabilities, but we do know that's what its all about now.

Bulbasaur, I would put on this list too. He has consistently shown and proven to be a very tough Pokemon. His stubborn personality completely coincides with this defensive toughness, and it really brings out his endurance as a real asset. It chose to stand and trade shots with Meganium rather than dodge the attacks. It held its own against the likes of Rhyhorn, Dusclops and others as well.

Donphan is obviously a sturdy Pokemon as well. The thing is though, his sturdiness is really split between defense and offense if you ask me. So I don't really know where I'd put it.

Snorlax of course! Remember the BF match for the Guts symbol? He took dozens of punches and still won...adn the match against Claire? How many Dragon breaths and Hyper beams in the face did he take?

Grotle comes second because that what Mother Pokenature has created him for- defence.

Which is funny, 'cause it's completely contradictory to Snorlax's terrible defense in the games. And then you look at a Pokemon now, such as Grotle, who follows his game fundamentals to a T. Very different..
