Because it has Leftover effect.. And.. "damages all other types by 1/8 of maximum HP each turn"..

The benefit of Black Sludge is that if someone uses Trick on you (or you use it on someone) and they aren't a poison type, they will be damaged by the Black Sludge, whereas they wouldn't be damaged by Leftovers (it would help them).

I have black sludge, but I want a Magmarizer for it, and that doesn't seem to be on your list.

I suggest you just go to the Safari Zone and catch all of the Croagunks/Toxicroaks that you see. I found my sludge on the 7th Croagunk.

Thanks Troggy for clearing that up for everyone else. I have Pt so I can find Croagunks on Route 212. I now have about 5 or 6 Black Sludges.
