I just got a level 1 shiny Chinchou (YEA) and I want to try my hand at iv/ev training. How do I do this. I have alot of pokes shiny and regular and a couple of masterballs I can give if someone can help me

I don't want anything in return, just glad to help.

You can't IV train that Chinchou. IV's or individual values vary from Pokemon to Pokemon and unlike EVs cannot be changed.

Ev's on the other hand involve battling a certain amount of Pokemon with a corresponding EV yield to what stats you want raised. Say you want your Chinchou to be fast, you'd give it speed EVs. Depending on how fast you want the Polemon to be. Items such as Macho Brace double the effort points received. So say you wanted Chinchou to have 64 EVs in Speed, you would give it the Macho Brace and battle 32 Zubats (for example). You may not notice much of a stat boost unless you begin EV training at a very high level.

If you are unsure about EVs still Google it for some very comprehensive guides. For ideas for what kinds of Evs check Smogon. If you have any other question feel free to PM/VM me. :p

Thank you everyone. Ya'll have been helpful! I just hope I do this right the first time. lol.

hmmm well it helped reading this article but i have nothing to say cause im new to this IV EV thing, i thought everything was by luck haha
