I was told to try here so sorry if this isn't the place to post.

Can anyone find my Secret ID for my Pearl game? I don't really know what I can offer someone with an AR, but I do have a Shiny Articuno (caught in a different game.) that is barely touched and has a Quiet Nature.

Please HELP!!!

You need to have caught a random shiny [not by chaining] in your own game to get your SID.

Apparently, if someone has an AR or computer program, they can find it if I trade them a Pokemon caught in my game.

I don't know about AR, since I don't have one, but I do use RNG reporter and I did need shiny pokes caught at random to get my SIDs for both my Pearl and Diamond games. I didn't use an AR at all to calculate it.

I suspect anyone using AR might need your game card to find out the SID. You're better off buying an AR and doing it yourself, if that is the case.

I understand that I could find it with AR or with an non-chained shiny and RNG Reporter, but you can also send a pokemon caught from the original game to another person with AR, and they can use a code or something to find it for you.

I know this because someone named Sketch on these forums offered the service, but now has apparently stopped.

Same here. If anyone can do it, or knows of someone who can do it, PLEASE POST HERE!!!

You could use PokeSav to do it, but still a chained shiny.

Do you need AR for PokeSav? I might have been misleading in my previous post.

I do not have an AR, or a non-chained shiny pokemon, so I cannot do it myself. This is why I am looking for someone who I can do it for me by trading them a pokemon caught it my game.

So my request still stands:

If anyone can do it, or knows of someone who can do it, PLEASE POST HERE!!!

Here's what you do:
1.Start chaining for shiny Pokemon
2.Catch 4-8 shiny chained Pokemon
3.Find out their IVs(IV battle someone)
4.Download RNG reporter
5.Plug that junk into RNG reporter's "Chain to SID"
6.Find out your SID and live happily ever after
7.Yay!

How long will it take to chain shinies? I can find out how to do it, I just need to know how long it takes.

Secondly, what is an IV battle?

A fare amount of time, but you can catch more than one shiny per 40 chain.

An IV battle is where two people get together in a level 100 WiFi battle just to write down the Pokemon's stats at level 100. You then take those stats to an IV calculator.

Just make sure you don't battle any of your chained shiny Pokemon outside of a WiFi battle.

If anyone has an AR/flashcart then they can check your SID for you, all you need to do is trade them a Pokemon and they can look at it and tell you. Anyone saying otherwise is incorrect.

Thank you.

I am going to try to chain some shinies, but finding the time is a bit hard due to school. If anyone has the ability to find my SID, it would be greatly appreciated!

I was chaining a Ponyta, and I got to 31. I decided to reset the pokeradar because the patches that shook didn't match the one I was looking for. So as I am running back and forth, all of a sudden my chain just stops and the normal route music comes back on. I didn't even leave the grass or encounter a pokemon! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN! Please someone help me!

That has happened to me four or five times as well. I don't know why it happens either. I haven't seen anything about it in the FAQS I've read about chaining. If you find the answer, post it for me. :-(

I think the problem is that I walked out of range for the radar, which is when you cannot see any of the patches that shook on the screen anymore.

There are SO MANY rules to chaining! How did we even come up with these rules? Are they just based on experience, or are they actually pulled from the coding?
