If you wanted an egg containing a shiny, you'd have to give out your Trainer ID number and secret ID number, since that's the only way someone could know whether or not it would be shiny on hatching.

I thought the shiny is set when the rng-er put it into Daycare?

it is... but trading an egg chances the players id and sid, causing the egg to hatch shiny, but as soon as the hatch sequence is over, the egg will be normal... i once traded a shiny egg to a player and this happened... i had to take it back and hatch it for them so they could get it shiny...
