The only real way you can check is by looking at the event Pokémons moves and such which is found here:

Toys R Us Shaymin (USA)
Germany Film11 Shaymin
France Film11 Shaymin

Chrys is pretty trustworthy, so don't fret it.

Also, if you are worried about losing a relicanth you could always just breed a level 1 relicanth if you do not have any others.

Just to let you know once you get the shaymin, have it in your party and go to Floroama Town and there is a lady standing in the middle of the town. (sort of near the entrance) Talk to her and you will receive the Gracidea flowers to change Shaymin to its Sky Forme. (it only works during the day)
