You can change the name in one of the cities. I forget which one though. I can look it up for you.

Edit: name changer is in eterna, one of the condominiums
 
Yea but it's from another trainer so the name rater doesn't let you change it. Maybe it will cause its japanese? Oh well even if it doesn't I can just breed a Larvitar

EDIT: Yep, can't change it. Oh well :P
